PHOTO : INSIDE OF THE TRAIN...

PHOTO : INSIDE OF THE TRAIN TERMINAL.
From the photo below, can see people are sleeping and resting on the floor during a day time. At night, emmm, sooo many people laying down at any train station. The beauty is, they are line up in a single file, from end to the other end. Depend on the size of the station, it goes from five to ten single file of people laying and sleeping there. At once glimpse, the scenario look like in the hospital, people laying down badly injured due to the war. Some of them with a wife and kids too. I'm thinking, how they wanna to.....but, they still productive. Mericle, magic and mystery !!
Available for hire - 1 Plane in original condition
by ChadSteve1975
Flying into Chennai may not seem that unusual to everyone but alas India is India and to me it had it's own quirks.
Quirk number 1
The Air India planes are definitely not new. Infact they're still in original condition. The walls had that wallpaper like look on the interior. and the panelling was out of a bad 1970's set, so too the seating.
Sure it may have been fairly safe but alas there was no doubt the plane was mutton being dressed up at lamb.
Quirk 2
For a population of close to 1 billion they don't fly much. There was only one flight out of Vishakhapatnam to Chennai I knew of in the scheduling. And Vizag is a major centre. Go figure. Even with the rich poor divide I would have thought there'd be more flights. (apparently Vizag is getting a new airport which will boost flights etc)
Quirk 3
You can't just sit in the terminal are for a few hours before your flight. Even if you are to be a passenger. You can't even enter the terminal until 3 hours before your flight.
Having said this my suggestions are:
1. If you have a big gap between flying in and flying out then go shopping. Do not check into a hotel for just 6 hrs. It's just not worth it.
2. Check your luggage into the storage centre at the international airport over in the carpark. It costs only 50 rupee.
3. Know where you are going from the airport. If you say Spencer Centre then don't accept anything but the Spencer Centre.

Day out with the crocs
by abi_maha
The number of crocs and alligators at this park is unbelievable!! The last time I visited the same I entered the park and looked at a nice brown ground in one of the cordoned off area. I kept searching for a croc in the same, obviously I expected to see a single croc, however only when one of the hundreds there moved its head did I realize that the entire ground was covered by crocs!! The brown ground was actually a spread of crocs!! :O
Madras (Chennai)
by Canadienne
Chennai (earlier known as Madras) is the capital of Tamil Nadu. It also seems to be the billboard capital of the country ~ they are seen in every available space.
I didn't really take to Chennai. . .I'm glad it wasn't my introduction to the country (no offence to anyone living there). Coming from Gujarat to this city was a shock ~ suddenly salespeople, touts and beggars were everywhere. The increased humidity in the South seemed to blanket the city in smog. . .and I didn't find much in the city that enticed me to stay longer. The only exception to this was the stunning Kapaleeswarar Temple
Thankfully, the tour used Chennai simply as a start and end point.
