Stay near the airport
This is a good place to stay if you need to rest in a hotel between international and domentic flights. It is just a couple of miles from the airport and they have free pick up and airport drop service.

Hotel near the airport
Will be on a night transit...anyone know of a clean and nice hotel nearby or maybe a transit hotel.

hiya,
there is a radissons hotel (which is a fairly expensive one) and another one..(keep forgeting its name, which is cheaper) just opposite to the airport. You can't miss them really. Both are good bets.

Near airport U have The Trident five star hotel.
hmmm neat and clean you can try Pallavaram .Iits near to Airport only 2 km from airport on GST road,"Krishna Bhavan "Hotel ,its on main road ,near to bus stand.You can have good filter coffee from there restaurent:).Its good.
There are few good hotels at Pallavaram,all budget hotels with neat&clean.
GST road itself you can see one more hotel,oops i forget exact name :(.
Ash :Opposite of Airport,if am not wrong ,opposite i can see "Thirusulam "railway staiton .:),You mean the hotel in Meenambakkam?

yeah I am a bit lost in directions. Yeah you are right..I probably meant meenambakam. Thanks for coming along and stopping the misleading info I gave!
Speaking of pallavaram, there was one of my favourite restaurants there which I used to haunt when I used to be in Chennai...was one of the many "bhavans" there...forgot the name.

This is a modearte hotel.I am not saying this is a class hotel .But if you are going on a transit this is very economical hotel .The airport pick up nd drop is included.

If you are just to stay for a transit and taking an early morning flight, then you can approach the airport manager who will provide you with a transit room (if vacant rooms are available.)
