visit kancheepuram. avoid the silk shops. the same stuff is available in chennai itself. visit the old temples. be warned, they close at 12:00 in the afternoon. there are 4 prominent temples in this small city. each has its own charming history and architecture. the journey from chennai to kancheepuram is around 2 hours by private taxi. the charge for an AC car for a day with chauffer is around 50$. a great bargain.
Is it a Restaurant? Is it a Nightclub?
by tayloretc about Zaras Tapas Bar
This place has good multi-cuisine snacks and light meals, and an extensive cocktail menu. The crowd is mostly younger, the music isn’t particularly conducive to conversation, but it’s busy, vibrant, and fun. I’ve heard there’s a dress code, which seems to mean guys have to wear shoes (not sandals) and trousers. Any of the tapas plates are good. The cocktails are very good.

"Chennai - Conservative yet Modern"
Chennai is the largest city in the Southern part of India. It is a very conservative yet modern city. Chennai is a large commercial and industrial centre, and is known for its cultural heritage and temple architecture. It is also a hub for south Indian classical music and dance performances. Chennai is considered the automobile capital of India, with a major percentage of the automobile industry having a base here and a major portion of the nation's vehicles being produced here. This has led to Chennai being referred to as the Detroit of South Asia. It has also become a major centre for outsourced jobs from the West. The 12-kilometre long Marina Beach forms the city's east coast and is one of the longest beaches in the world . The city is known for its sport venues and hosts an ATP tennis event, the Chennai Open.Chennai is also one of the rare cities to accommodate a national park, the Guindy National Park, within its city limits.
