Visiting the Vestin

The Vestin is pleasant enough, its a small, new hotel in the Egmore district. The staff are courteous and polite. The place is well-kept, clean and within walking distance(if you dare!) from Spencer Plaza, the main shopping mall in Madras. Its also a 2 minutes walk from the National Museum and art gallery.
There is an 'auto' (three wheeler taxis) stand across the street and an internet cafe next door.

Unique Quality: The food at the 2 restaurants, was excellent. The Indian food I mean.
The buffet was a delicious spread of indian specialities, breakfast was a standard aray of indian delights, but we always ordered cheese and veg omelettes.
Try the wonderfully spiced Masala tea or milky indian coffee, we used to sit for hours, drinking pot after pot.
My fiance and I stuck to indian because our western food experiences in throughout the city were less than satisfactory. At the hotel, we did try the club sandwiches, and fried rice, not bad.
