Without question this is the best hotel to stay in Coimbatore. I think this is the only 3 star hotel in the city, located in center of the city in Avinashi Road.

This hotel is an impressive 5 star hotel with large rooms and spacious public areas. It is well situated and only 10 minutes from the station. The room decor is a little dated but very comfortable. Service was good.
The food in the Afghan grill in the garden was excellent with friendly and efficient waiters.
Highly recommended hotel
We had to stay here just 1 night en route to the Nilgiri Railway, so the hotel arranged a car for us early (rather expensive). The hotel was very impressive, a typical business hotel. The bedroom was good, clean and functional. We had dinner in the Pavilion Restaurant where we chose a Fillet Steak. The dinner took an age to arrive, it was cold and it was never fillet steak, more like stewing steak and unedible. We should have stuck to the buffet. Overall, OK as an overnighter, probably the best in town, though Coimbatore has nothing to hold you there.
Whenever I go to coimbatore, I stay here for a matter of clean and neat atmosphere, to have fun of living and stay, good food and room service, have a pub Bikes and Barrels, which is one of the attractions here. Their group hotels in Chennai too have this pub and its something really amazing that unlike other pubs here you are allowed in, if you are staying in this hotel and without your companion too.
Always full and reserved, and you need to get your reservation in advance. Good business and family hotel to stay.
I frequently visit to Coimbatore for work..Residency hotel is one of the best hotel I have stayed in Coimbatore. It is situated in the heart of the City on Avinashi Road. Ambience of the hotel is fantastic. The Lounge of the hotel is one of the best. Employees of the Hotel are very caring and hospitality is very good. Service wise also this hotel is pretty good. Hotel's swimming pool is fantastic. Hotel's pub Bike & Barrel is MUST VISIT' place. Ambience and music is very energetic. If you are foodie then their pool side resturant 'Afgan grill' is again must go.Overall I had very pleasant stay .
We normally visit residency for dining. It is a good hotel and the best to stay in coimbatore. Food here is good (chinese and grill especially) and I have also seen the facilities provided in the rooms which are excellent. Swimming lovers have to compromise a bit since swimming pool here is bit small, but this place is the best place to stay in coimbatore.
This was my second stay here. The hotel is quite swanky, and the breakfast menu is excellent. Room service is good. The toilets, though clean, don't LOOK very clean. The rooms are nice but their bathrooms need a makeover. Nice view from my room 526.
stayed here for 4 nights on business; felt very comfortable and the service was great. Arrived at 5.30am after an overnight train from Chennai, feeling exhausted and in need of a shower, and nothing was too much of a problem! breakfast spread was amazing, really set me up each day for a day's meetings. All staff were lovely, including the doormen! a couple of small negatives: I would have liked some complimentary water in the room (I know it wasn't expensive but it's just the gesture!), and changing dollar travellers cheques was limited to 200 dollars each time which wasn't enough for my purposes, also had little information in the room about the hotel's services and facilities, but overall would heartily recommend it if you're in this part of India - a little haven of peace and coolness which I really enjoyed!

I was on a private visit to Coimbatore (Kovai) on the way to Ooty.
The Residency is very famous in coimbatore & it lived up to its expectations. Most important is food... very delicious south Indian Tamil food. Ask for the delicious pongal in the morning breakfast. Its too good to describe.
Plus the usual hospitality of the Residency group is for us to see. The staff were great & helpful. They were very friendly with kids too. Good pool for us to use.
