Greenlands Youth Hostel: Nice Views, nice price
The hotel/hostel is placed on the edge of the cliff, with beautiful views of the plains below.
If it wasn't for the fog...
In February 2005 we bargained a double room wih balcony, sofa, table and chairs, cabinet and TV down to 400 Rs. And hot water from 8-10. If you pay more you could also get a room with fireplace and 24h hot water, "no problem, mam".

Don't remember: Get a blanket
Make sure that whatever hotel you stay in that you ask for a blanket as it gets quite cool at night. I wasn't prepared for it as I had been travelling for a few months in the super Hot Indian Plains! If you go here you will know what I mean as about half way up the mountain the you will pass through a big temperature change! The place I stayed in had small rooms for about US$1

Hamidhiyya Hotel: My Experiece in Kodaikanal
When ever i am going to Kodai, i am looking for Budjet hotels. Hamidhiyya is very near to Bus Stand, it is not luxurious hotel, but it is neat and cheap, inside the city so secure also, even veg and nonveg restaurants are around. I recommend this hotel for Budjet and some other hotels are near and behind this hotel, those also resonable...during Season 400 to 600 and Off Season you may get rooms from 300. I don't like to pay lot for staying in HillResorts, utilize that amount to spend some more days in glorious natrual habitat. If anyone interested i can give the contact nos for some hotels, email me on solukkusmi@rediffmail.com.
