Agra was the imperial capital of the Mughals during 16th - 17th centuries. the Mughal emperors who governed here were: Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan. and they're left many forts, mausoleums and gardens. then with the decline moments after the Mughals, Agra was captured by the Jats, Marathas and the British. so, several colonial buildings can be seen here too, like Fort Railway station, St John's College [designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob] and Saint George's Church of Agra.
and about Agra nowadays, i found her by the end of the summer is ... melting! and in my own lingo, i can say "kotanya simpang siur". the city is still charming but hectic and bit dirty :(traffic jam from the city to Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, vice versa! i can melted myself on the bus :D
