(Not my favorite thing but) there seems to be an unusually high amount of security checks everywhere in the city, like manually your bags when you check in to a hotel! Try to be calm about it and let it go.

Question: Renewing Tourist Visa
Hello!
I am wondering if it's possible to renew an Indian Tourist Visa beyond six months, either within India or by leaving the country and re-entering. If it's necessary to leave the country, for how much time must one be out of the country? Is there anything else I should know?

You have to leave India in order to apply for a new tourist visa. You don't have to be a certain number of days/months out of the country to do this. In theory you can leave India and apply on the same day for a visa for example at the Indian Consulate in Kathmandu (Nepal). Good luck...
