The first night in Sunderan we spent here in the Guest House run by the Power House. There is no power here but it is supplied with eco friendly generator with fuel of wood and bio diesel. The cost of production is more but eco friendly. Power is supplied from 6 in the evening till 10 PM in the night. Since we visited during Christmas all hotels and guest houses were full. We had pre arranged with my friend Debasish's connection and booked the guest house. They offer 4 rooms to the tourists but the aminities are very basic, Spartan class. For Four room and a hall and dining area we paid only Rs.2000 for the night. The food was arranged by the cookes we ngaged and they cooked an excellent meal.
I shall put the contact detais later.

If you are travelling on a group and want to experiment something you have not done before, hire a boat and stay there. The boat comes with cooking facility, toilet, drinking water, two cabins, , deck and basement accomodation. You get boat easily accomodating 4 persons to 40 persons in Sonakhali or Canning port. They charge Rs.4000 or USD$ 100 per running hours for a large boat accomodating about 30 persons or nearly Rs.1500- 2000 USD 40-50 for a smaller boat. They will charge you by running hours and a boat is expected to run for 6-8hrs per day, the night is free. You can park the boat in the middle of the river like others. Cooking charges is extra, but I tell you the cook is excellent. We paid Rs.32000 per night for two nights three days ( Rs.64000 or USD $1600) for a group of 25 person and it was cheap the kind of service we got. Staying in the boat has extra advantage, you can start early as the animals are mostly visible in the very early morning when it is less noisy and less crowded. You can take bath and have breakfast on the boat itself. You can enter the deep creek at the time of high tide and have the rare opportunity to see Crocodiles, large snakes, rare birds while rushing your teeth. The same is not possible in govt run boas as the local Sarengs ( captains) know everything, al crreks there inside the forest. Trst the locals, we really enjoyed our trip.
