Cottages - All In A Row
The ‘Symphony Palms’ at Govind Nagar, Havelock Island, South Andamans, appeared to cater more to the domestic tourist. Owned by Shri. Milan Bose, its rooms are actually individual cottages along a line separated by a large lawn. There are 64 cottages - 24 on one side of the road, called lagoon side and 40 on the other side of the road. The décor of the cottage is tastefully done with wooden floor and wooden panelling. The rooms are very spacious and airy. The room rate is fairly reasonable (Rs. 1,000/- extra) during the peak season from Dec. 15 to Jan. 15 every year. Each cottage has an adequate front porch, where one can lounge around. Cable TV is available in each cottage. However, room service is not available.
Unique Quality: Plenty of rooms (cottages), adequately priced.

Now, let me tell u about endangered tribals of A&N Islands:
Jarawas: friendly, living in the forests of North, middle and South Andaman Islands
Onges: friendly, Living on Great Nicobar Island
Sentinelese: Stay away from them. Their territory is closed to tourists. They liveon Sentinel Island, a few miles away from South andaman Island towards its west. They are cannibals and have abducted tourists whose only heads have been found and remaining body eaten up. There they are in the pic.
Port Blair - Capital of the Andaman Islands
by illumina
Port Blair is the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and lies on the east coast of South Andaman Island. It has a ferry port for connections to Kolkata, Chennai and the other islands in the group, and a small airport with flights to Kolkata and Chennai.
It was first established in 1789 as a penal colony on Chatham Island (just to the north of the present town), and was named Port Blair after Lieutenant Archibald Blair of the British East India Company. However after two years the colony moved to North Andaman Island where it settled at Port Cornwallis, and it ceased to operate in 1796 due to disease and death.
Port Blair was re-established in 1857, after the Mutiny/War of Independance made the housing of large numbers of political prisoners a necessity. Originally on Viper Island (named for Blair's ship The Viper), an penal establishment was then set up on Ross Island in the 1860s, and this became the Administrative Headquarters for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands until an earthquake in 1941.
