Designing of Chandigarh is very interesting. It is split in many, quiet big sectors and between them there are a lot of trees and bushes. That makes the city look very green and nice, but from other side this division in sectors makes it very big and quiet complicated for people who are traveling by car.
Located some distance away from the other two buildings that make up the Capitol Complex, the High Court was built between 1951-57. The structure has a double roof, projecting over the office block like a parasol or an inverted umbrella. The magnificent outward sweep of the upper roof is symbolic of protection and justice to the people. The place is surrounded with people and cars and I watched judges and barristers walking along in full black suits and gowns.
Before we came to India we didnt plane to visit Chandigarh, but i am happy that we actually did. I was surprised about interesting architecture of the city and happy about so many flowers all around.
This is definitely the most clean city i have seen in India and it is always nice to have some changes. :) Even railways station in there is very different from all others, cos it was only place where we saw so many not tourists, but business people from West.
