Hotel Satyadeep: Great location
Located in sector 22 which is next to the bus station and the shopping centre in sector 17, I found this hotel to be very good and clean with a nice polite chap at reception who helped me out with buses to Kalka in order to get the Toy Train to Shimla. The room had a doublebed, small table & 2 chairs, wardrobe, mirror and a clean bathroom with 24hr hot water from a geyser. They had cheaper rooms available but mine was in the middle for Rs400. They also serve breakfast such as toast with butter, jam, cheese sandwich, cornflakes (but with hot milk, ug!), tea, coffee, milkshakes.

Hotel Amar: Hotel in Chandigarh
We arrived in Chandigarh in the middle of the night and it was quiet complicated to
find a hotel, cos the city is quiet big. Finally we stopped in here and even it was bit
more expensive as in other places room was nice with TV, white bed sheets and hot
shower.

Hotel Divyadeep: Reasonable Accommodation near the Bus Stand
Chandigarh's accommodation is expensive by Indian standards and not brilliant either. Divyadeep is one of two almost identical places along Himalaya Marg in Sector 22. I ran down a few doors to check out the prices at the Hotel Satyadeep but found that prices, decor, layout of the hotel were all the same so perhaps this tip applies to both.
I paid Rs.400 or so for a double room at the front of the hotel, while it had a balcony that was shared with the room next door, it was pretty noisy on account of the block-like building and the street frontage. We also found that the bathrooms shared a common wall so we enjoyed the sounds of our next door neighbour expectorating at strange times during the night (woke up thinking that someone was being strangled in our bathroom!!).
Alright for a transit stop or overnighter but if you want to stay somewhere for a longer place you can probably find somewhere with more character and cheaper.

The Kaptain's Retreat: Not good
We stayed there for only one night, and didn't like it at all. The only positive thing - is tasty food from the restaurant.
The room itself was not good at all. First of all costly and the room doesn't worth the named price (Rs.2490 - double occupancy). Design in the room is not there at all, things just standing. They tried to make the room in ancient style, so kept old wooden work, but don't maintain it, so room is full of bags that are crawling everywhere and flying, in the bed also.

Hotel Classic: Hotel Classic Chandigarh
It should be rated a 1 star hotel. The rooms are not cleaned each day and when asked, the bed linen is not changed. The towels are quite stiff and stand on their own. When room service is required, no one responds. The food is substandard. There seems to be a strong sewage smell and the cockroaches have first claim to the bed. Smoking is permitted and infiltrated from the next room.

Imperial Hotel: Mohali's Best Hotel
After a long journey from Delhi .
Staying at the Imperial Hotel , Mohali was a breath of fresh air.
The Deluxe room and bathroom were great. Great shower !
Very , very clean room .
Room service very good . Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Restaurant good authentic Indian food at a good price.
Got a discount , huraaah !!!!!!
