Operated and owned by the Government under the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), the Ashok Hotel is a huge property which is very centrally located but has probably seen better days. Though there has been effort to make several improvements, the government has finally decided to disinvest in the hotel, and infact sell off most of its hotels under ITDC.
Unique Quality: The hotel houses several shops and also a Sagar Ratna restaurant, which serves good south Indian cuisine, within its premises. Also, many offices of Russian countries- a reminder of days when Indo- Soviet friendship was at its peak...
I'm a solo female student who will be spending 3nights/4days in Northern India this January (Delhi-Agra-Jaipur-Delhi). I have my accomadations booked but need all of my transportation/tours to be taken care of before hand. Could anyone recommend some goverment recognized tour agencies that customize tours/transportation without having to book accomadations with them? I have heard of ITDC deluxe bus day tours as well but have yet to come upon links to these offers
The ITDC office L block Counatplace and also Ashok Hotel new Delhi.
