Old Fort
by Bjorgvin
Inspect the Purana Qila (Old Fort). The ruins of the fort once stood on the banks of the Yamuna, but the river has long since changed its course. According to legend the fort marked the site of the magnificent capital of the Pandavas (about the 9th century B.C.), but the building of this structure was carried out between 1538 and 1545 A.D. It houses a mosque with an octagonal tower. It is said that the Mughal King Humayun fell from the tower accidentally and died. There is a Sound and Light show at Purana Quila every night.

India Habitat Centre
by husain
India Habitat Centre is a venue that hosts a variety of events, has a range of restaurants, art galleries and is home to several offices and convention centres. Its a cluster of partly covered courtyards, patches of green, and some interesting landscaping and architecture.
There is a `Habitat film club', which screens several films and documentaries. There are also some theater programmes that are held periodically.
Some of the restaurants on the premises are the `All american diner' which is a great place for sunday afternoon brunches/ breakfast. Though it seems that the staff are pretty stretched on busy days... Also, there is `Eatopia', a food court. That apart, there are a few more which are restricted to members only- among them- `lite house' which is next to the terrace swimming pool.
There are also guest rooms, spas and fitness centres available for members.
Its located very centrally- on Lodhi Road

Delhis public transport system...
by husain
Delhis public transport system comprises of busses, taxis, and auto-rickshaws and the Delhi metro network.
The busses, though they are very cheap and connect the city end to end, arent for the faint hearted- whether you are inside one of them or anywhere close.
Your best bet are the auto-rickshaws- the three wheelers. the fares used to be calculated by multiplyig the meter reading at the end of the journey by a factor of 3, but now the electronice meters give you the exact amount. Often there may be haggling over price and your auto driver will quote a price upfront, before you start.
The hub of New Delhi is Connaught Place, where you'll find most of the airline offices, travel agents and banks and plenty of shops.
The good news however, is that in the near future there will be several efficient options available for transport. The Delhi Metro system is already up and running and the network is growing. Work has begun on a High Capacity Bus System, which will run along dedicated corridors. Also, there will soon be modern busses being used for public transport. Besides, there are plans for high speed train links betwen the airport and Connaught Place, and also Gurgaon.
