DDA Sports complexs and new stadiums
by husain
The commonwealth games 2010 held in the city, have meant a lot of new sports infrastructure being created... New and rennovated stadiums are littered all across the city now. Its a challenge on how to utilise this fresh capacity now that the games are over.
Also, the Delhi Development Authority has a number of sports complexes around the city.
They offer a range of options- golf, tennis, hockey, soccer, basketball, badminton, swimming, fitness centers and of course cricket- amongst other sports.
The Siri Fort sports complex is one of the first, and probably one that offers the best facilities, including several new ones built or the commonwealth games...
Membership can be corporate membership, or even temporary 3 months and daily casual usage options. Golf clubs and balls can be rented... for most other sports, you get your own stuff.

by DidiMurohy about Chadni Chowk, other bazaars
Chadni Chowk is a VERY famous shopping bazaar in India. If you are in Delhi, this is a MUST-SEE! When shopping, make sure to check the prices of your chosen item in many stores, or you will definitely buy something for a higher price than you could have!
Bargain AWAY! Make sure to ask 1/2 of the price of what is posted, and then go from there, you will find that you will get many good deals this way. There are gorgeous cloths, pottery, other sandalwood carving, EVERYTHING! Not much, remember, in India 100 rupees is = to 2.5 American Dollars! So keep that in mind when buying!
Getting around this huge city
by travelmad478
Delhi is pretty enormous, and most of the city is not well-suited for walking--it's too big, too hot, and the sidewalks tend to be filthy or non-existent in most places. The areas right around the Red Fort (Old Delhi) and Connaught Place are walkable, but to get to most of Delhi's major sights you will need to use a vehicle. Three-wheeler open taxis are a good and cheap method of getting around town--especially now that the air pollution in Delhi has abated somewhat. If it's summer, do yourself a favor and hire a car with air conditioning--the heat, dust, and pollution will kill you. Be prepared to spend a lot of time getting from one place to another, since Delhi is a huge city.
