This is by very far the worst hotel I have stayed

This is by very far the worst hotel I have stayed. This hotel is essentially a 2-star hotel feigning to be 3-star.
The reception and the service crews do not even have the basic knowledge and understanding of english. The internet is around 1kb per second (I know because I am so irritated that I spend the time looking at the transfer activity). Being slow is one thing, the internet gets disconnected very frequently.
There are essentially 2 types of breakfast only, prata or noodles (1 day 1 type, not both on same day), well, I guess it’s better than nothing. They do not provide water, so you will have to go down to the restaurant to get the water. The hot water they gave are cloudy and smells.
The tv programme also gets disconnected frequently, due to the non-payment of the tv bills which is flagged on the tv. The worst of all, frequent breaking down of air-conditioning and fan altogether during the summer period. It is a waste of time trying to commute to the reception and service crews, they will only reply, "yes, yes ,yes" that's all. There are many more hotels down the stretch of NH-8, never choose this ridiculous hotel.

Unique Quality: All the features of this hotel is unique in the sense that you won't have much chances to experience anything worse.

Cheap hotel in the Main Bazaar

This was a really popular place!
I made a reservation via email and it was nice to find upon our arrival late at night that our room was still there for us.

Hotel Vishal has a great little cafe downstairs and there is internet out the back along with a couple of booths for internationals calls.

There is a rooftop here with nice views across the Main Bazaar and Delhi, the guy who runs the little area up there though, kept knocking on our door and asking if we wanted drinks or food etc! It turned out that he used this as a seperate operation from the downstairs cafe, orders the food and drinks down there and then marks the price up if you eat on the rooftop to go into his pocket!!! LOL

Unique Quality:
Our room was nothing special at all!
We had 2 rough looking beds which we pushed together, these stood on a tiled floor and the room had tiled walls too. There was also a fan and a very small but functional toilet and shower.

In typical bacpacker Indian style, our room was windowless.
But the Pahraganj area which is the main bazaar right by New Delhi railway station is a perfect location.

A: "I would not recommend to stay in Old Delhi. It's very noisy and not very clean, also not many hotels to choose from. You can get to Chandni Chowk easily on the Metro..."
