The Maidens Hotel has been a heritage hotel since 1903. It was built during the time of the British Raj and has been well maintained and retains its original charm. I found the service at the front desk excellent; although they do not provide safes in rooms they are scrupulously honest and hold guests valuables in sealed envelopes in their main safe. Front desk staff were always helpful and answered questions regarding transportation, city monuments and were always ready to break down large rupee notes for smaller ones. The hotel gets tourists groups from the U.K. and Australia, but these large groups did not detract from the friendly, efficient service in the coffee shop. One may also eat outside on the patio. Food in the main restaurant is elegantly presented. The reception area is pleasant with fresh floral displays and comfortable seating. I paid $86 a night (through Continental Airlines).
Unique Quality: My room was on two levels which gave it a unique charm and the window overlooked the gardens (I am told that some rooms can be dark), but mine was light, comfortably furnished, very clean, had an efficient air conditioner, and a marble, modern bathroom. There was a TV in the room. The location of this hotel was particularly pleasing to me it is north of Old Delhi, and away from the hustle and bustle of the main areas. The hotel is set in lovely gardens with a well maintained, clean swimming pool. Internet service is available for approximately $5 US an hour. Even though this hotel is a little further out, I would highly recommend staying there. I thought that it was excellent value for the service I received.
A nice Hotel clean rooms, older than most but better for it would stay here again, Food Not great,
The bar to small and dark no day light, Bar man was not a happy chap, very few people visited the bar, The gardens nice place to walk in the smell from the flowering trees was rememberable.
Unique Quality: O.K
Oberoi Maidens hotel
Hi all, I will be travelling to delhi soon and am looking for a hotel. I require either 2 room for 4 ppl or a single family suite. My main requirement is that the hotel has to be very CLEAN. I do have a budget but I am willing to spend more to get good quality. I have already looked into the Merina, west end and park hotels and have found them lacking. Let me know your suggestions and thanks a bunch.
Are you looking for a hotel in a specific area in Delhi or open to all locations?
You could try looking into the (Oberoi) Maidens Hotel. (it's not the Oberoi Hotel downtown). They are very spacious and very clean!
