One of the nicest things to do...

One of the nicest things to do in Delhi was walking at Quitab Minar, a big temple complex. Also nice was to see The Red Fort of Delhi. But there are more things to see like: the Lotus Temple (modern temple of the Bahai community), Laksmi Temple (new Hindu temple), Humayun's Tombe, Feroz Shah Kolta (with the minar / columb of Ashoka and relic/sanctuary), Pharganj (near the New Delhi Railway station, a trendy hippiebazar), Connaught Place (modern shoppingarea)and the Palika Bazar (neat oldfashioned underground shoppingmall; watch out you can get lost here!).
I added a map of Delhi, hopefully it's a bit readable.

As beautiful as the TAJ?
by HarShe
The construction of Humayun's tomb was taken up by the grief-stricken wife of Humayun, Hamida Banu, also known as Bega Begam in 1565. Legend has it that the design of the Taj was inspired from this tomb's. In pure architectural sense, this building is probably superior and much more beautiful that the stunning Taj. Sacrilege? But really, the only thing this building lacks is the showy marble.
Humayun, the second Mogul emperor to rule India, ascended the throne at Agra on December 30, 1530, at the age of 23, four days after his father's (Babur's) death

essences, oils, candles .....
by uglyscot about The Next Shop
The shop was very up market, everything tastefully displayed, and evidently of high quality. Anyone interested in decor would love it, as all the little things that make a house special could be found here , as well as organic herbs and spices. I had been looking for certain types of compressed perfume and oils, but didn't find the kind I wanted. I did buy something else though at 150 rupes a small bottle. probably more than in a small shop in a less commercail area
Indira Gandhi Airport

This is about the worst airport I have been. If you have a long wait when changing planes, then good luck :) There is not much to do.
Tip: If you do not fly business class, have a good frequent flyer card or a diner's club card, just go to the lounge anyway and ask what is costs (it costs 15 Euros). The guy sitting there is of course interested in getting some private pocket money, so if he doesn't offer himself ask him to let you in with cash money. No receipts, so he gets all the cash. (he offered in our case and we negotiated it to 6 Euros).
The lounge is by all means not spectacular, but at least you can have some quite okay bites, all the alchohol you needs, smoking area and up to date newspapers.
