Domestic Airline transfer

by charuleka

Hi,

I'm trying to book a flight between Jodhpur and Chennai in late January. The Indian Airlines flight from Jodhpur arrives in Delhi at 7:20pm and the connection (on the same airline) to Chennai leaves at 8:00pm. Are we cutting it too close? There's an alternate flight on Kingfisher that leaves Delhi at 8:40pm - would that be a better bet? The 2nd option might involve a switch from Terminal 1A to 1B, but it looks like Kingfisher will allow us to check in online & save us some time.

Thanks!

Check with India airlines Jodhpur airport if you can do a through check-in to Chennai. If so then you will not miss 8:00pm flight to Chennai. It becomes the responsibility of Indian airlines to put you and your check-in baggage in their 8:00 pm flight to Chennai. If not ,then better to take 8:40pm Kingfisher airlines.

Hi,

I am from New Delhi. There are options -

1. You can take total deal from ____to Jodhpur to Delhi to Chennai and inform Indian airlines. If you give total money to one airlines, then by chance the flight is late to Delhi, they have to give you option at the other airlines. Anyhow, 40 mnts for changing the flight is too short because baggage takes time to come to the belt.
2. You can plan to take kindfisher flight

3. You can try other airlines too like air deccan, indigo airlines, jet aiways because there are number of flights from delhi to chennai.

Travel Tips for Delhi

Hit The Back Streets

by keeweechic

Around the back streets were dozens and dozens of curbside businesses, plenty of cycle repairers and the usual barbers, shoe repairers and food stalls. No one bothered me, although most were a little curious at this blond and alone Caucasian lady invading their busy world happily snapping photos of all I was trying to absorb.

Rich private urbanizations

by diageva

You will find people sitting on the floor of the streets selling things, cutting hair, reparing shoes, asking for money, resting, cleaning their self ... and with rubbish around ... but there is a diferent Delhi after the grates of the private urbanizations of clean streets, clean houses, no poor people, no people selling things at the streets

A day with the NSG

by husain

The NSG, or the National Security Guard, are the elite para military force responsible for crack commando operations, anti terrorist/ anti-hijack, and all those dramatic situations.
Their outfits have also earned them the nickname- `blackcats'

I was shooting (camera!) their drills at their camp just outside Delhi, at Manesar.

If you are in Delhi, be...

If you are in Delhi, be prepared to having limited nightlife options. International hotel chains (e.g. Le Meridien) may offer discos, but these are either closed to the public or are priced in such a way that the public gets excluded.

Auto-rickshaws and other tales...

by husain

One of the most popular ways to travel around within the city is the auto-rickshaw.
Much like Bangkoks `tuk-tuks', they come with a reputation, and its not of the best kind. However, with bus transport bieng another story and not advisable for the un-initiated, and taxis bieng a little bit on the expensive side, `autos' rule the roads as the most logical alternative by default.
The latest bit on them is that there is a fare dispute with the authorities, and because of that, most autos refuse to go with the metered fare, and would charge amounts that are determined in advance. This leaves much room in the grey areas naturally.
Delhi is waiting for the plans for the 2010 Commonwealth Games to be in place. Work on many projects has begun- the Delhi Metro system is already in place, a High Capacity Bus System is being set up, and also plans for a light rail system along with high speed trains betwen the airport and the city centre...
