Delhi Station to Hazrat Nzm : The road distance is approx 10-11 kms. Auto will cost you about Rs.60-70/-

New Delhi Station to Hazrat Nzm : Distance about 5-6 Kms. Auto will cost Rs 50/- approx.

There are also pre paid auto cunters at all these 3 stations and it is advised to take the auto from them.

U are welcome.

Also note that the main area of Delhi station area is towards platform 17 and not towards platform 1 (which is mostly the case). So walk towards platform 17 and outside ask for the pre paid counter.

Humayun's Tomb - Built by the wife of Humayun, Haji Begum in the mid 16th century, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal. The structure is one of the best example of Mughal Architecture. Humayun's wife is also buried in the red and white sandstone, black and yellow marble tomb. The entry in the complex is free on Fridays.

i'd been in delhi 2 weeks before i noticed the railway lopp stations one day the strike was on and i wanted to visit a friend the other side of delhi. the ricshaw driver asked 400 rupees as it was going to be one hours drive. due to the strike and his price going up on the way, i got out and went home by train. my friend then came over by the train which took 30 minutes and costs about 14 rupees i think.
i went to chandigarh by train but think it would have been much cheaper by bus, and more buses running, rather than having to book the day before for the train, and wait a few hours to get return train home.
i loved the rickshaws for getting around delhi, though, becos they enable you to go places without getting lost. you can always walk out of a building and there'll be one not far away to take you home.

If you're coming from abroad...you might land at Delhi airport. From there it's easy to get a taxi or rickshaw to the centre of town or your hotel.
Getting around in Delhi is easy. The cheapest way to get from one place to the next is probably an auto rickshaw. You need to barter a bit to get a good price (which is easy once you get the hang of it).
You can also get taxi's which are more expensive, but better for long distance and if you've got lots of luggage.
