Hey.
I'm going to Delhi on holiday but would like to do some shopping.
Can anyone suggest any nice exclusive shops where i can buy some nice sarees and lenghas from.
Thanks
Shopping in Delhi can be a hassle, because of the inevitable haggling, which Westerners aren't used to. To avoid this, go to the fixed (and fair)-priced Central Cottage Industries Emporium, on Janpath. This is run by central Government, but maybe check out the state-run equivalents nearby as well.
To begin with shopping for sarees I would suggest one must visit "Nalli" at South Extension for the South Indian Silk. For the Lenghas & Variety Sarees there is "CTC Plaza" at the Maharani Bagh Crossing. And for that matter If you visit any of the Big Malls in Delhi or its surroundings like "Shipra Mall" at Indirapuram, or "Sahara Mall" at Gurgaon you can find wonderful sarees.
Hope this helps.

For Japanese people this is unthinkable, so here I have a picture for their benefit... in India if you stay at a nice hotel or go to a nice restaurant you will invariably have a choice of either using water and your hand or toilet paper. I personally miss the tap in Japanese toilets. Another thing about bathrooms is the frequent absence of baths, or if there is one it's very shallow and long. (in Japan, all bathrooms have a bath - always deep and short) IN my case - no bathroom, the public baths! :P Hence my love of them when I travel... ??
Nanital is Suited in Uttranchal state North India Kms 330 from Delhi by road.Nainital is known as the Lake City as it is located around the 'Nayana Tal'. The city is a beautiful mixture of all the colors of nature. This mesmerizing example can be seen in the first look of the city itself. On one hand, the city surrounds the lake.
As per the legend, when Lord Shiva was carrying the body of his consort Sati, who had jumped into the sacrificial fire-Havankund organized by her father Daksha Prajapati, her (Sati's) eyes dropped out at this place and thus it came to be known as "Nayana Tal" or Nainital.
Arround Place of Interest. Jim Corbett National Park, Bhim Tal, Naukuchia Tal, Ranikhet, Almora, Kausani etc.
Jet Airways was just another airline, which I couldn't book online, because they only accepted Indian Credit Cards. But there is a trick.... go to ebookers.com and get your ticket there. Price is not much different.
I paid GBP 271.17 to fly from Singapore to Delhi (and back).
One of the most convenient ways to travel in Delhi is a relatively new `radio taxi' service.
While this is a concept that is very common in developed economies, this is a relatively new service here. These are air-conditioned cabs- metered cabs.
Dial 1929 (no prefix) from within Delhi or +91-11-29232425 from elsewhere. A radio taxi will reach you soon, and you are charged by the Kilometre.
The rate is a flat Rs 15/ km, and your billing starts once you set off from your location. You are not charged for the distance the cab covered to reach you.
The cab drivers have had a background check, and go thru specific training.
A night surcharge of 25% is applicable between 11pm and 5am.
They also have packages with fixed rates for airport drops/ pick ups.
Alternately, you can engage a cab on a distance-hourly usage package. For example, renting for a 10 hour or 100kms slab, would cost you a little over Rs 1,500 or approx $35.
You can also rent vehicles to travel to cities outside Delhi.

A: "I would not recommend to stay in Old Delhi. It's very noisy and not very clean, also not many hotels to choose from. You can get to Chandni Chowk easily on the Metro..."
