city tour or renting a car

by ttoorke

Hello everyone
Is there anyone who knows is better to take a city tour or renting a car for a period of 2 or 3 weeks visiting New Delhi? Which one is better and safer and where can I find the good and reasonable price?
Thank you

well you could check the above link for the rates . yeah it is good to take rent a car for 2 to 3 weeks . you could speak to the hotel you have booked too for further details . with a car it is easy and you could see places on your own rhythm rather then in city tours they just run from one place to another with limited time .

HI,

I am from New Delhi and can help you in arranging a car for 2 to 3 weeks. Can you please let me know how many persons will be visiting New Delhi because then only i can tell you the rates of the card - i.e. Indica (5 people), Qualis (6-7 people), tempotravels (12-13 people). Once you let me know the dates and No. of people I will give you the contact No. of the driver who will give you the card on rent.

Travel Tips for Delhi

Get a ride and see the city...

by fonares

Get a ride and see the city during rush hours when pedestrians, cyclist, rickshaws, cars, trucks compete with cows, monkeys, goats, dogs. Seeing people ***ting in public without hiding. I have seen so many butts and doo-doo coming out of assholes.
Monkeys playing with and then stealing drapes left for drying on the rooftop of a building. The owners got so angry, they chased the monkeys and threw stones at them. That was hilarious. They never got the drapes back though.

Local bands are often on view at college/ university annual festivals. The season begins towards the end of summer, and goes on for a while.
That apart, several lounges and restaurants also have live music with local bands often performing. Olive and laidbackwaters are two such, besides many more...

Take a coffee break...

by j-san about Barista Espresso Bar

The decor is contemporary and the interior cool and clean. Barista coffee shops are taking over India it seems, with the 89th one opened in Delhi this year! The coffee is great and the cakes much better than any at Starbucks for example (which this chain resembles but outdoes... in my opinion.).

by indyj001

best way to get to Delhi ,it to take a flight.U can go through SAS if you are flying from Stockholm.U will have to make a stopover at Copenhagen. The flight from Copenhagen to Delhi is about 8-9 hours.
Buses are too difficult to get in ! More comfortable way is to take a taxi or a three wheelers than run a lot on the city.In the longer run, these forms of transport might end up expensive for you,so for going around delhi (sightseeing) its always cheaper to take the guided tours.Tour information will always be available in hotels.

A metro project is also under way in Delhi. But it will be sometime before you can actually use it.
