However, as I continued putting our trip together, it became apparent that our homebound flight was bound to leave late at night. Faced with the prospect of spending 8-10 hours hanging around the airport before a late return flight, I begin investigating the possiblility of getting a hotel rooms for "the afternoon". I fully expected to pay for a night's lodging, so I was carefully selecting based on facilities and price. Much to my happy surprise, I learned that the Ashok sold some rooms on a day basis, for occupation between 1200 and 2100 hours. PERFECT. And of course, this meant the price was a lot lower.
Summing up, if you are looking for a GREAT place to rest up and shower before a late evening airport departure, the Ashok Country is about the best choice you could make. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. The bathrooms have plenty of good, hot water for a shower. And, there's a health club, including Ayurvedic massage facilities, and a beautifully maintained and inviting swimming pool. Whatever would make you happy for a few hours before a flight - it's here. The restaurant is also good, too. (You'll like the "tent style" draperies on the ceiling)
If, for some reason, you're OK with staying at a hotel outside of the city during your time in Delhi, then the Ashok Country is an excellent choice as well. It's just that, for me.... it was too far from the city center to be our visit hotel.
