A Nice Airport Hotel
Spent 5 nights here after arriving unexpectedly on busines. A decent hotel very close to the airport. Beautiful common areas. Nice pool. Decent room, except for the largest cockroach I've ever seen that never moved the whole time I was there. My second night they had a power outage and offered to move me to another part of the hotel that still had power. I accepted and found myself in a much nicer room - twice the size with all new furnishings.
If you are need a place for a quick overnight or an early morning departure you can't miss, then this is a good choice. I had never been to New Delhi before so just grabbed the first place I could find. But after exploring the city a few days, discovered there are many much nicer hotels downtown. So if you are staying for a while - head downtown.
I found the service got better as the staff got to know me. The scurge of an airport hotel is the staff never expects to see you again and they act accordingly. Why invest time and effort on a one time encounter? The food never improved, but found dinners acceptable except for the constant stream of complaining group tours.

Near the airport
Ashok Country Resort is a decent hotel very close to the International airport.
The hotel is clean, has a decent swimming pool, internet facilities and provides friendly travel advice.
I wasnt too impressed by the food. By Indian standards it was fairly expensive.
