Cell Phone

by seattlegurl1

Hello,
I'm landing in Delhi next week, and would like to buy a cheap cell phone. I've rented SIM cards in the past, but my current phone (Sprint) doesn't use SIM's. Any advice on prices, and where I can go to shop. I'm looking for a basic phone, I don't mind a used one, and want to spend less than $100.00 USD.
Thanks!

Hiya,

If you are looking to buy a cheap phone, you can easily get one, the cheapest Nokia Black and White basic model costs around $ 40-50,if you want a colored phone it will cost you between 80-90 $.

You can easily rent out SIM once you land in India , infact AIRTEL ( The largest Mobile Operator in India) has a counter at the airport itself where u can pick up a SIM.If you have any other query regarding your trip , you can post ur question here or email me - rjohn1976@gmail.com

Have a wonderful Trip in India

Best Regards

I love to post a postcard back home whenever I travel. Every post office is different in different countries. In addition, stamps depict the country in a unique way. Visit New Delhi post office at Dak Bhavan. You can also visit India's National Philatelic Museum for free; Mon to Fri from 9:30am-4:30pm(closed 12:30-2:30pm).

Call it crazy but ... i'm lovin' it.. McDonalds!

by June.b about McDonalds in Karol Bagh

After several spicy and hot dishes at the hotel the previous night which by the way tastes okey, just that am not used to real spicy food, I went out to look for any fastfood around the area.

I found McDonalds about 300-400 meters away from Crest Inn Hotel where I was staying. It's in the shopping area of Karol Bagh. I always settle for fastfoods when I find all else too much for my liking or becomes boring. McVeggie™

Red Fort

by jmmorgan

The Red Fort is one of Delhis top tourist attractions. Approached through a covered bazaar you enter a magnificent deep red sandstone fort.
In 1857 this was the seen of much fighting between troops during the Indian Mutiny.
The inside of the fort is interesting with many different areas to explore. Well worth spending a couple of hours wandering around dreaming of what it would have been like at the height of the Moghul Empire.

Around India Gate - Empty Canopy

by DaDrifter

The canopy next to India Gate used to have a statue of King George V underneath. The statue was removed soon after India attained independence. The canopy has since remained empty.

Under the majestic arch is the Amar Jawan Jyoti (Eternal Flame honouring the soldiers). This was added later as a memorial to the Indian soldiers killed in the Indo-Pak war of 1971.
