Currency exchange
by NYTim
You cannot buy Rupees outside of India. When you arrive and just before you leave the secure area there is a Thomas Cook currency exchange. Buy some Rupees before you leave the airport. I loved watching the crazy traffic, people and the animals in the streets. The food was also fantastic.
Be ready to negotiate
by OSV_Alero
If you don't like to negotiate expect to over pay. You could do what I do. Bring a native with you shopping, and have them buy it. Just don't let the shop keeper know your together or they will charge you if you are from another country, especially America. EVERYTHING! It's all cheap.
Very Bazaar
by jmmorgan about Chor Bazaar
An interestingly decorated restaurant with a bar upstairs where you can have a drink while waiting for your table. Decorative items include an old car and a four poster bed. Our table seemed to be made from an old rickshaw but I'm not really sure.
This restaurant seemed very popular with the local hip crowd. We had a wide selection of chicken and mutton dishes with some rices and breads plus some Kingfisher beers.
Quatab Minar
by Luchonda
The most maintained pillar in ND - 5 high.
The first three are builded in red sandstone ! The upper two with a mix of sandstone and marble !!
A General ordered to start building this pillar - as a honor statue of his victory in 1193
It had different functions - overlooking the area to defend New Dehli and actualy a part of the grand mosque.
It was possible to climb this tower via a gallery - but this access stopped due to many accidents and suicides
