If you miss Western food
by bashboo about The Big Chill
This brilliant gem of delhi started off as just one restraunt in east of kailash that became instantly popular with students from around the area...it is now a very very successfull place with one branch in kailash colony market and two in khan market, one near the florist and convenience stores and the other one 'round the back. Definately go here if you want some amazing food and desserts-- their counter always has some gorgeously silky cheesecake or my fav. which is their standard 'Squidgy choc. mousse cake', they also have a few unique flavours of ice cream and also some low fat flavoured yoghurt of which the banana raspberry is v good...
Try anything from the pasta to the pizza you wont be dissapointed. Risotto, pizza, lasagne, dessert
The Red Fort
by SabrinaSummerville
As with the Taj Mahal, it transpires that everything happened in Delhi first! Once again I had thought the Red Fort was unique to Jaipur - until I realised that in Jaipur it's actually called the Amber Fort, and that there are Red Forts in both Delhi and Agra!
In Delhi I found the Red Fort was not really user-friendly as such. Our itinerary said we would drive past it and I can see why. I asked our driver to stop so that I could take pics, but the place is surrounded by scowling Guards.
That saying, it's quite magnificent and I got one or two worthwhile pics.
Little Tibet in Delhi
by lynnehamman
Walking along Janpath towards Connought Place, you will pass the Tibetan Markets. This market not only sells Tibetan goods (clothes, ornaments, furniture, jewellery, textiles and more) but also has stalls that sell Tibetan food. Tibetan music fills the air.
Of all the markets I have visited in India, I liked this place best. The atmosphere is festive, the prices are the lowest (lower than in Tibet!). Its very colourful.
