India Tourism Centre
by Willettsworld
This is THE tourist information office in Delhi despite what people might say to you. I got caught up in a scam when I first arrived and was taken to one of many so called tourist offices but this is the real one. Inside, its all air conditioned with a large area with nice seats. I went in to enquire about how to get to the Qutb Minar and how much it would cost if I took an auto rickshaw. They said that I could take one from the pre-paid stand right outside and that it should cost Rs70 (which it did).
88 Janpath. Open Mon-Fri 9am-6pm & Sat 9am-2pm.

INDIAN SPICE MART
by pravdr about MASALA ART
masala(spices) art located in taj palace hotel is an indian delight.its the 5starised version of traditional indian food.although such food comes in queer stereotyped versions not having the flavor of traditional restaurants.howevre it more than makes up for a quiet evening ,good ambience, and quality bread(nan/roti/parathas) whch were of the finest order and served piping hot.service unfortunately in north indian hotels even 5 star is abysmal as compared to the western and south indian hotels and restaurants.waiters are strangely unfriendly and quality of english quite ok.you have to make them smle by saying a quote or two to obtain a grimace of a smile.may be service industry has not percolated north india as much as western and south indian hospitality.
hours 12:30 pm — 2:30 pm
6:30 pm — 11:45 pm all kinds of bread area delectable and beautifully made.the cook informed me that he specially uses a little olive oil to make them lighton stomach.dal fry and tandoor preparations were excellent so were the kebabs and fish curry.
At Masala Art, authentic spices are used judiciously to complement, rather than to overshadow the other ingredients. The show kitchen is interactive, a feature usually associated with western cuisines. Guests can actually tell the chef exactly how they like their meals. Indian breads too, are baked on a griddle atop a unique trolley.
While most of the menu comprises old favourites, a few, like doodiya murg, have been specially created for Masala Art.

The Parliament House (known locally as the "Sansad Bhavan") is in the the city centre of New Delhi, not far from the Rashtrapati Bhavan (the President house). The area around is a quiet place to be in a big city like Delhi.
LOTUS TEMPLE (BAHA'I) Delhi
by lynnehamman
The award winning architecture of this wonderful temple complies with the rules of Bahai faith, in that it has a dome and a nine sided circular shape. The style of this temple is very similar to the Sydney Opera House. In keeping with the Baha'i faith, no statues or images are allowed within the temple. The grounds surrounding the temple are well laid out, with a water feature. There are always hundreds of people waiting to enter, as the Bahai Faith is a "Universal Faith" and worshippers from all different religions are welcomed. The Temple was consecrated in 1986.It can hold up to 2,500 worshippers at any given time.
