Staying in New Delhi and looking to visit some rice mills!!

by 37SingleMaleInDubai1

Hello guys,
Well, in few days I am heading toward New Delhi and planing to stay there for the time being. I do have a special interest to visit rice mills, Paddy Markets (I have already visited Narela). I think Haryana is the place to go to visit such places, but which province in Haryana has the maximum number of rice mills and have the biggest areas of rice plantation? Anybody Knows this?
I think Gorgaon would be a place to visit!!
I would appreciate any respond either here or to my VT mail box.
Thanks guys and look forward to your responds,
Amir................. :-)

Hi amir

I myself have worked in rice export house for 4 years. U will not find much in gurgaon. On delhi- karnal national highway u will find lot of rice mills like kohinoor foods, sun star, tilda, Maharani. near karnal there are small towns like cheeka Its a rice sheller hub
For which purpose u want to explore these shellers

HI Amir,

Vaibhab is absolutely correct, those are the places to look for specially nearby Delhi. Also Nilokheri, that too in Karnal.

Best of luck

Travel Tips for New Delhi

The traffic in Delhi

by georeiser

The traffic out of Delhi towards Agra was hectic with many chaotic crossroads. It looks like the drivers disregard any traffic rules. There are no "zipper-method" when two cars want to drive at the same time. They use the horn all the time. The more you use the horn the stronger you look like. "OK, you win this time, but I shall win in the next crossroad."

Hindu forehead mark (Tilaka)

by l_joo about Hindu forehead mark (Tilaka)

Quick, quick tourists, quickly come to grab some cheap modern stick-on Tilakas for 5 Rupees per pack. I saw this roadside vendor full of customers surrouding the stall, I was curious and I walk near it to see so many ladies busy selecting the stick-on things. Tilaka is the spot where Hindu peoples put on their forehead but this one on sale is a piece of plastic made product that you can stick on and off easily, just 5 Rupees with hundreds of designs.

Chai (Tea or Milk Tea)

by l_joo about Chai (Tea or Milk Tea)

In picture is a steel boiler, this is a Tea vendor of India. Tourists only have to stand closer to the boiler showing one in finger gesture without talking, this way they might think you are a regular, just do that and just stand there as if you have been to India a hundred times. I did that once but was after many attempts, just to have fun, probably they already expect a stupid tourist like me, just react the same to entertain me, hahahahaha.........

As u enter u feel a peace silence, Ghandi memorial is rounded by green gardens. Ghandi was cremated followinghis assassination in 1948, we found lot of indian families, who visit as pilgrimage.

*GIRLS! cover ur shoulders to visit religious places
*You are requested to leave ur shoes.
*Silence is needed to express ur respect.

Jantar Mantar

by MM212

Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah, Jantar Mantar is one of five astronomic observatories built in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Sing II, the ruler of Jaipur. The largest Jantar Mantar is in Jaipur, while the remaining three are in different cities in Northern India, and all were used to observe the skies and to make various predictions from eclipses to weather. The Jantar Mantar of Delhi was built 1724 in the middle of empty fields which, 200 years later, became the site of the newly planned city of New Delhi. Fortunately, the odd looking structures that resemble colosseums and stairs leading to nowhere were saved from destruction and turned into a park surrounded by British-era edifices.
