Where to stay - Delhi or Gurgaon

Hi, visiting india this week and i am in a dilemma. which is a more happening area new delhi around connaught place , karol bagh or Gurgaon. where is better for night outs clubs and bars and restauarnts and malls. few of the friends said gurgaon was good others say connaught place - and i am now undecided.

Delhi(CP) and Gurgaon have good clubs/bars/restaurants, it depends where your staying, its a 1 hour commute(without bad traffic), hence that might be an aspect you will need to consider.

The crowd is the other angle, Delhi has mostly locals(been in Delhi for over 5+ years), Gurgaon has a lot of floating population, as its a newly come up city and primarly sprouted because of lack of space availability in Delhi and to promote business/industry/trade/commerce.

living in delhi is lot better than in gurgaon, delhi is grown up city with more options of pubs, restro bars and malls, shopping centers, whereas gurgaon have only few.

I would definitely suggest Karol Bagh area.
Transporting around Delhi (to and from Gurgaon) takes time- Delhi traffic is a nightmare day and night.
There is plenty of nightlife in Delhi- a very happening place now.

Hi,
I think you should go to Gurgaon cause there are lots of clubs and malls out there ,and so many youngsters over there so you can find restaurants, clubs.

Hi connaught place is center of new Delhi and Gurgaon just outside of southern part for night life both are good as well for shopping malls.

Hi Sam,

Ya Sushant Lok sec 27 has good choice of malls and pubs et all....and slightly open and green......hope you enjoy......but CP is also good one....green.....and not that crowded ......but not karol bagh as its too congested...and the old part of Delhi.....

Now you would be the better person to decide upon...as you have got enough advices....LOL

Well I am livingh in Karol Bagh and love it. Hotels are reasonable in price and loads of tourists choose this place. CP is a short ride from Karol Bagh and next Friday there would be a meeting in CP.

Well there're many options in Delhi as compared to gurgaon. Be it Malls be it Restaurants. So I would suggest Delhi.

Delhi is famous for Leather items,whole of India ,Delhi you will get nice leather items with good prices. Delhi many market &many shops you will get pure leather items.
My favourite visiting shop is at Connaught Place ,Lion Heart ,F block. This shop you will get only Leather items.
Be it ladies handbag,Belt,leather coat,leather travel bags etc.

The price here is very reasonable,and quality is good :)

Established in 1934, Nirula's is one of the oldest food chains in Delhi. They were the first to introduce the concept of fast food in Delhi, by opening self-service restaurants. Today it is a big chain that operates Restaurants, Business Hotels, Ice Cream Parlours and Pastry shops all over the town.

The Nirula's complex at Connaught Place offers a great choice of Indian, Continental and Chinese cuisine. Salad Bar - great choice of soup, salad, fresh fruits and desert.

Non-vegetarian Tandoori platter - Grilled Chicken, Mutton seekh kebabs, Dal Makhani and Naan (bread) served on a platter.

Baha’i Temple

The Baha'i House of Worship, popularly known as the Lotus Temple, is one of the most visited edifices in India. The Lotus Temple in New Delhi is the sole Bahai House of Worship in the whole continent of Asia apart from the six others in Panama, Kampala, Illinois, Frankfurt, Sydney and West Samoa. These seven Bahai Houses of Worship are all world-famous for their architectural beauty and nine-sided design representing the manifestation of God. The Bahai Faith was established in India in the mid 19th century and today India is the largest national contingent of Bahai's in the world with more than 2 million members.

The temple was built in 1986 and reminds me of the Sydney Opera House. You can visit inside where it was nice and cool. I sat down, like other people, on marble and wood benches arranged in a semi-circle towards the rear of the temple where there were 2 brass flower pots with large cut flowers nicely arranged in them. Nice and peaceful inside.

Humayun's Tomb

Built in the 16th century by the wife of this Mogul emporor. Earlier than the Taj Mahal you can see some similarities in style. Be careful of the monkeys around here. They see all tourists as a meal.
Very few people seem to go here so it is usually very peaceful and quiet to have a walk around the nice gardens
