Could be worse

It's an ugly, rather old building and the rooms don't perform the most agreeable thing, but it is well located and has good sight of a part of the city.

Aside there is a mosque, so if you aren't Moslem the prayers are going to wake you up.

The best of this place is that you enter and go out freely without tourist packages' sellers!!!!!

Family Restaurants Delhi

I will be travelling to Delhi shortly, with my wife and two children, possibly staying at Connaught Palace. Can anyone suggest good vegetarian restaurants that are close to this hotel (walking distance)?

Vega in Alka hotel is supposed to be pretty decent and so is Kovil for South Indian. Both are walking distance from your hotel.

You have not mentioned which hotel you would be staying in, but there are many
Family Restaurants in the inner circle of Connought Place. In fact, Connought Place is famous for Restaurants, besides as a shopping centre, off course.
Most of the restaurants located there are good.I do not remember not having enjoyed the food in any one.
In fact, if you can go to Pandara Road (5 minutes from Connought place by car/ Autorickshaw), you can enjoy in another set of very good restaurants.

Pure veg Janpath ,Hotel Saravana Bhavan.Early morning 7.30 am to you will tiffen&other veg dishes ,its South Indian.
Pandra road ok ,not walkable distance.
Nirulas at Connaught Place offers veg food.

There are so many restaurants around the Connaught Place it is very difficult to suggest a single one. Most of them are good & reasonably priced. But since you have kids with you I will suggest you NIRULA's (though a non veg one). Just log on to their website for more details

The best I know is Woodlands, South Indian vegetarian, but I understand that this has now moved to Vasant Plaza, opposite Subway, Munirka (South Delhi).

But all Indian restaurants offer good vegggie options. Gaylords and Kwality are normally reliable options. Bon apetit!
