More about Saubhag Bed and Breakfast
Just what you need when visiting India for first time
We deliberately chose to stay in a Homestay for our first 2 nights in India. We couldn't have chosen a better place. Meera and her family very very welcoming and gave us valuable information about Delhi and India. The rooms were very clean and had all the amenities. She invited us to have a meal with her family.and this was a delightful experience. The food throughout our stay was excellent. She took us around a local market which gave us a taste of shopping in India. We have already reccommended this Homestay to other people we met on our trip around
India. I can not reccommend Saubhag Bed & Breakfast highly enough.
Saubhag, the best place to stay in Delhi
We spent four great days at the Saubhag B&B. It is the perfect place to stay for a night, a month or even more! Meera is a terrific host, so is her wonderful family with who we had great meals and conversations. We felt at home all time. Also, they provided us all the support we needed, always with a big smile and enthusiasm about our next steps! I appreciate very much for all the help you provided and advise anyone to fall into your grace as we did. We will surely stay there again when we return to incredible India. Very confortable, in a safe, nice and quiet area, hot shower, great food, great company...nothing more to ask (only that there was one like this all around the country!)

Warm hospitality at its best
We just returned from a wonderfull trip through India. The trip started and ended at Saubhag Guesthouse.
The first stay, arriving after midnight and catching a car in the morning to Agra, already showed a glimps of what we experienced at the end of our trip, when we stayed two long days: unmatched warm hospitality from Meera Dass (owner), her family and staff.
It seems nothing is too much when it comes to making you feel at home: special prepared food when you don't feel good, taking you shopping to assure you have the best deal, etc, etc.
For anyone who looks for a moment of rest in the hectic Indian world, go to Saubhag. Meera, her family and staff will assure you a good, pleasent and warm stay in Delhi.
Hospitality at its best
This is an excellent bed and breakfast. We stayed here for 3 days in total. The accommodation is spacious, immaculate and full of ethnic charm. It is a peaceful haven in the middle of lively Delhi. The owner Meena Dass is a brilliant host , she is friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. She has a great sense of humour and has invested a lot of her own time to make our stay special. The food is first class.
This is a real home from home and we highly recommend it .
Wonderful Bed and Breakfast
We stayed twice at Saubhag on our recent trip, at the beginning and then again at the end when we had to change our plans and spent an extra night in Delhi. We so enjoyed our first stay we asked to return and fortunately for us, there was a room available.
Our rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable and the property in a quiet residential area. The owner, Meera Dass, and her family could not have been more welcoming. We were treated like one of the family and Meera took the time to show us parts of real Delhi - way beyond the call of duty!!
Whenever we return to Delhi I would stay nowhere else and we would highly recommend Saubhag to all travellers to the capital.
More than just a bed and breakfast
Clean, quiet and beautifully appointed. Wonderfully warm welcome from the proprietor, Meera Dass and her family and staff.
So much more than just a Bed and Breakfast, although the latter were in a class of their own: honey from their own hive and exotic Indian treats every morning for those who were adventurous. Every morning we met fascinating new guests, all of whom were on return visits and there can be no better recommendation than that. And when we were too tired to venture out into Delhi at night, Meera and her cook whipped up delicious meals and provided Bollywood DVDs so we could eat, rest and entertain ourselves in comfort.
She personally accompanied us on shopping expeditions and sightseeing tours - she is a mine of information and full of hilarious and wonderful stories.
I'd call it a home away from home, except that my home has neither cheerful servants nor marble floors. I'll definitely be back again, although I suspect it might become more difficult to get a booking as more people find out about this little gem in the heart of India's capital
The best intro to India
This was our first time in India and Delhi was our first stop. This homestay is truly a home. Meera Dass is a wonderful extrovert who cannot go to too much trouble to make her guests happy. She, her family and staff welcome you and look after you, offering advice and helping to make your Indian experience truly memorable. The accomodation is comfortable and spotlessly clean and meals are available on request. This has to be the best homestay we have ever been in anywhere.
My friend Max and I had a very pleasant stay at Saubhag. It's situated in a nice and quite area within walking distance of the Metro. We were lucky to have a 2 room apartment with kitchen and living room. Luxury. Meera, her family and staff do their outmost to give you a pleasant stay, and the hospitality and courtesy you meet is unique. Meera gives you some valuable advice about what to see, where to shop, pricelevel etc. All in all this homestay is highly recommendable and I wouldn't hesitate to return, should my travelplan include Delhi again.
Home from home....but better!
Our first stop in India and we arrived jetlagged, culture shocked and unfortunately baggageless as our suitcases didn't make the very quick connecting flight from Dubai. Sounds like a perfect recipe for stress and hard work doesn't it. But Meera and her family made it easy and enjoyable. She lent her sons clothes to my husband, chased the airport on the phone to find out if our luggage had arrived and how to get it and even insisted on going out to buy me some spare undies!
And when we went to collect our bags at the airport and foolishly forgot to take our passports (which we needed) she sent someone to fax a copy through so we wouldn't have to come all the way back again.
The ensuite rooms were spottlessly clean, spacious and elegantly furnished.
The room opened onto a nice guest lounge with TV, dvd's, books and a computer with (free!) internet access.
Off the lounge was a well equiped kitchen with plenty of safe, bottled water (also free) and a fridge stocked with beer.
In fact it's a two roomed appartment with the entrance off a side staircase the door to which the live-in staff unlock for you so you don't even need a key, except for your bedroom.
Meera is a wonderfully warm and chatty character who couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. She arranged restaurant bookings, cars to take us to from places, She took us on a trip to the market and educated us on bargaining practices. She gave us plenty of useful tips and info which increased our understanding of the country and people which helped us through out our holiday.
The home cooked meals were delicous and we even got a cookery class one evening when we were too tired to go out.
During our 25 days in India we stayed in some very nice and some very posh places but our warmest most friendly stay was with Meera at Saubhag.
If I were to visit Delhi again I would not stay anywhere else!
We arrived in Delhi at the start of our three week holiday in India, and could not have hoped for a better introduction to the country. Meera, the owner, is a character who genuinely seems to want her customers to enjoy their stay in Delhi to the full. She sent us off on out first afternoon for a relaxing stroll in the Lodhi Gardens, a haven in the extraordinary chaos that is Delhi. In the evenings she was able to recommend authentic restaurants where we could sample our first delicious curries, at reasonable prices, including the taxi fares there and back.
The accommodation is clean and comfortable and in a quiet area. Her staff are very helpful and efficient. We were the only visitors at the time and so had the large living room to ourselves and were able to watch part of Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony and discuss our reactions with Meera afterwards.
When we waved goodbye after two short days, we felt as if we were leaving a friend. We will certainly return here if we ever come back to New Delhi.
