Dehli
by mandie301 about Connaught Hotel
I was allocated to three different rooms before I finally found myself in this luxury accommodation on the fourth floor. My first on the third floor, had a stomach churning smell and was tired and dilapidated. The second room I was given, had a leaky air-conditioning unit and was very damp and musty. But this final room was luxury itself! Very modern clean and details down to handmade cushions which match the curtains!
I would recommend buying water from the traders on the corners of the road rather than from the hotel itself as it was very overpriced. There was a huge range for breakfast and staff are friendly and approachable.

Hi
will be in Delhi next March and looking for a decent hotel (such as Claridges £150 per night per room) which wont break the bank.
Im really looking for advice on the area we should be staying in as I want it central enough to some nightlife and in a better part of Delhi, also we r going to be in Delhi to watch the cricket.
Thanks for ur help

I can recommend a few really good accommodations in New Delhi- we have stayed at all of them, and quite frankly- there is 100% better value than staying in the large hotels. The ones I recommend are all in very best area of New Delhi- and transport is a breeze.

Why exactly do you think that this is the best area? And can you recommend an hotel? What is the advantage of staying on Janpath as opposed to the other accommodations already recommended?
