You best bet for 5 Star Deluxe hotel will be
1. Crowne Plaza Surya New Delhi : the nearest hotel to Faridabad

2. Intercontinental New Delhi : a better Hotel that is not that far off, just next to Lotus Temple.

and for 5 Star hotels;

1. Ambassador New Delhi : little further off but very nice location
2. Hotel Marriott Delhi

Hill view is a better choice. If u can let me know date when do u plan to come to faridabad, then based on availability of accomodations i may suggest you some good options.

Waiting for ur reply.

Travel Tips for New Delhi

Karol Bagh

by oisha about Shopping Centre

This market is one of my favourites. Located in a part of Delhi that was heavily settled by Punjabi migrants from Pakistan at the time of Partition, it is well and truly off the tourist track. The only foreigners you will find here are the bargain-savvy Russians who know where the best deals in Delhi are to be had. Consequently, almost no one hassles you as you shop. You can buy everything from household goods to clothes (mens womens, kids) to shoes to jewellery to sporting goods to fake watches to second-hand books to imported electronics. EVERYTHING. There is a mix of proper shops and market-type stalls. The proper shops close on Mondays, but there is a Monday market in full swing each week. As anywhere in Delhi, you definitely need to haggle to get the right price.

Have more if you like it!

by jmmorgan about Have More restaurant

We had an excellent meal in this restaurant and I do hope it is still going strong today. Being from England we thought we would be familiar with the menus of indian restaurants. Not so. Indian food is so different from the offerings at home. The menu itself was an exploration! Fish Tandoori Tikka.
Tender pieces of an unknown aquatic creature in a beautiful tandoori marinade. Simply melted in the mouth.

Visit India gate

by mantru

Situated on the Rajpath in New Delhi, India Gate (originally called the All India War Memorial) is a monument built by Edwin Lutyens to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in the World War I and the Afghan Wars. The foundation stone was laid on 10 February 1921 by the Duke of Connaught. The names of the soldiers who died in these wars are inscribed on the walls. It was completed in 1931. Burning under it since 1971 is the Amar Jawan Jyoti (The flame of the immortal warrior), which marks the Unknown Soldier's Tomb.

Inscribed on top of India Gate in capital letters is the line:

To the dead of the Indian armies who fell honoured in France and Flanders Mesopotamia and Persia East Africa Gallipoli and elsewhere in the near and the far-east and in sacred memory also of those whose names are recorded and who fell in India or the north-west frontier and during the Third Afgan War.

You can see the Rashtra pati(president) house, you can shop at Janpat, and visit the national museum......

Dadi-Poti and others Tombs

by pattayaraj

Located in the Hauz Khas area as the tomb of Dadi-Poti. There 're 2 tombs in this area, one 's bigger known as the tomb of Biwi(mistress) or Dadi (grandmother) and another one's smaller known as Bandi (servant) or Poti (grand daughter). But it is not know who was it built for. However, the style of building 're in Lodi style.

Colonial Impressions - Teen Murti Bhawan

by DaDrifter

The Teen Murti Bhawan was the residence of India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. This was converted into a memorial after his death. The museum offers a glimpse of the life of Pandit Nehru and has an interesting collection of pictures and newspapers that give an insight into the Indian struggle for freedom.

Originally designed as a residence for the British Commander-in-Chief, the building is located just south of the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

The planetorium attached to the memorial is also worth a visit, it gives an overview of the Indian space programme.

The museum is closed on Monday. It is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Sunday. Addmission to the museum is free.
