Uppal's Orchid - an Ecotel Hotel: Serene Environment

The hotel facilities were rather good. The first floor rooms open out to a garden and a great view of the pool. There is a nice garden you can take a walk or jog. The gym was rather basic but adequate.
Breakfast was minimalistic but adequate. The RALPHS bar had a nice ambience. Internet Access was expensive and you'd think for the prices they charge you they could include internet for free.
The rooms were expensive 350+ USD. The rates they quote you often does not include taxes, ENSURE you get a nett price before you book. They charge you in rupees at the end of the stay and sometimes they charge different conversion rates each day, sometimes a standard rate.
Overall a good place to stay if you were looking for a romantic stay.
Uppal's Orchid - an Ecotel Hotel: Close to Airport, can't think of any other reason

I stayed at this hotel because it was close to the airport and I had a morning connecting flight. Its about 15-20 mins drive from the airport (domestic). There was a car (toyota corrola) to pick me up from the airport, which was nice.
The other reason I stayed in this hotel was I had a business associated who also was staying here - upon check-in I gave a file to the receptionist which I wanted "slipped under" his door by evening - they said they'll "put" it in his room instead. Nothing - next morning I had to collect the file from them - the guest wasn't in, blah blah blah.
Room was small for a 5 star - nothing to write home about. When I booked the room, the description said "free high speed internet" but after connecting there was price-list of hours/days - I didn't feel like arguing and coughed up the $25 or so for the day use of internet. Complimentary breakfast - below average for a 5 star hotel.
All in all, not highly recommended for the price & class.
Unique - this is in only hotel I have stayed in where they ensure you don't have enough water for the tea/coffee machine (the 500ml complementary bottle they give you is not enough, and you can't use Delhi tap water) so you have no option but to use it from the mini-bar (chargeable) or call them up and wait.

About 15 minutes by car (or auto-rickshaw) from the international and domestic airports, Uppal's Orchid bills itself as New Delhi's first "eco hotel," whatever that means.
It is certainly a luxury hotel: large rooms, well appointed, good restaurants, and an excellent business center with high-speed computer connections.
Pool, business center, restaurants, lobby bar adjacent to a sweets shop; also fitness center and putting greens.
