Has anyone out in VT world stayed at this resort or seen this resort in amed . Thanks in advance for any advice.

Haven't stayed there but am considering of going early March07. The website looks good and the critics in my guide book (Guide du Routard) put them above average ...
If in the meantime somebody tried it, let us know.

The fishermen bring their boats in every morning and park them on the beach. As far as you can see down the coast their are boats. It doesn't leave much available sand
for anyone to use except them.
While staying at the Blue Moon resort we got one of the guys (Ketut) to take us on a drive around the area for a couple of hours.
He took us up into the hills to show us the area that he comes from. I doubt that too many tourists see this part of Bali.
We stopped at his cousin's house (who also happens to work at Blue Moon) so he could shimmy up the tree to pick some coconuts for us. WOW, I can't believe how quick he made it to the top!
Fresh coconut juice was on the menu that night.
I also found out that it's very good to drink the day after you've drunk way too much Arak!! No, it wasn't me......some of the staff had a fun night singing & playing guitar and drinking shots of Arak, coke & lime juice!!!! Have to admit it was a nice drink, but I only had two.
so nice the wreckdive there. but get there early. because a lot of people will join you there the later you come and stirr up the sand. so the visibility gets worse. normaly there are 2 dives there in the package. but i did just one there and the other in amed at a wall there. also amazing. no underwatercam, therefore no pics of it, but one of ameds wonderful sunset
in a village next to amed i got the luck to drive by a cockfight without tourists. it is a blody cruel but quite interessting thing. lot of people lost fortunes by betting on the wrond cock!
Twice we have stayed in this area, on the north east coast of Bali, and both times we have loved it. Far from shops and hawkers, in a dry and less humid area, with villagers happily going about their own lives, mainly fishing, but a few subsistence crops as well, Amed seems a world away from the bright lightsof the south.
Swimming, snorkelling, diving and trekking are the action activities for tourists, but relaxing, reading, sleeping and doing nothing are also attractive possibilities.
