Friendly people
by kyoub
I would like you to meet the Blue Crew.
They are a very friendly group of people and they will do everything to make your stay here an enjoyable one.
The owner is sometimes here and she is a very lovely lady also.
John is on her left here. He is always smiling.
His brother will take you anywhere that you would like to go.
Don't forget your mosquito repellent and sunscreen
by kyoub
Travel light, your bags may have to be carried up a steep flight of stairs. You don't need much in the way of clothes a swimsuit, some tops, sarongs, and flip-flops. Bring anything that you cannot live without because there is no where to get anything unless you drive into a larger town. Bring what you will need. The most important thing to bring is the repellent and the sunscreen. The sun is bright and when the sun goes down the mosquitos come out about dinner time.
Temple with a view
by kyoub
At 3,300 feet, getting there is half the fun, especially if you decide to get there by way of the 1,700 stone steps
We went by 4 wheel drive and it still seemed like it was quite a climb
Pura Lempuyang Luhur is a very important temple because of its location, at the top of the island's easternmost mountain..
There has probably been a temple on this remote and sacred site since pre-Hindu times.
The temple is not large but the view is spectacular.
There were several buses full of worshipers that arrived there about the same time as we did. They seemed to all have lunch with them so they planned to stay awhile, There were also some food stalls in the parking area.
There were no touts, no one bothered us, a very untouristy location.
A small fishing village in Bali
by LotusV8
"Amed in Bali"
This is a small village close to Tulamben at the east side of Bali, the beach is black, volcanic sand covers the coastline here and it is very beautiful, you dont need to worry - you will not get dirty at all, its sand and nothing else.
Amed offers very nice diving/snorkelling, but that s all folks - no pubs and a few hotels
