Denpasar Airport and Accomodation question

Hi there.
Does the Denpasar airport have coin lockers big enough for a small rolling suitcase?
Also, could someone recommend a nearby hotel for about $30/night?

No is the answer to your question about lockers in the airport, there are various lounges around where for a fee you can go inside, they have secure places for luggage, but you wouldn't be able to leave the luggage unattended because of the high security that is in place, leading towards the Christmas season. So you will have to take your luggage with you.

There are not so many hotels nearby to the airport close to your budget, and it depends on when you are arriving, because the hotels will make a seasonal surcharge towards the middle of December until the beginning of January, and a lot of hotels in that period are already full.The hotels that are within your budget are further away in Kuta around poppies lane or in the back streets of Kuta

There is Anika Guest house (not the same hotel as ANEKA BEACH in Kuta), only about 300 meters outside of the Airport exit, on the left of the main road. It is a small guest house with only 8 rooms so it may already be fully booked. Rooms start at around 39$ per night. You wouldn't need to take a taxi to get there it is really only a short walk.

There is the AA hotel a little further out in Tuban you would need to take a taxi (about 20,000 - 30,000 rupiah depending on the time of day/night)Rooms start at 300,000 (a bit less than 30$) a night.

Thee is Bakung Sari Hotel in Kuta, again you need a taxi (around 30,000 - 40,000 depending on time of day/night) rooms are around the 30$ per night price.

There are many more in Kuta at your budget level, but as I said before it really depends on when you are coming!!

Whatever happens and wherever you go, you will have to take your luggage with you.

Got back from my trip last week.

I ended up forwarding my luggage to my final destination, so I didn't have to deal with it, but there is a place to leave your luggage at the luggage. It's kinda behind Popeye's Internet cafe. There aren't lockers, but it's like a coat check. Didn't find out the details, but it's there.

Yes there is a place, but they closed temporarily during the security operations following the threats made after the execution of the bombers, and it isn't coin operated

Try not to step on "Canangs" (Offerings to Gods)

Balinese are very religious and pious. "Canangs" (offerings to Gods) in the form of trays made of palm leaves, filled with fresh flowers and tidbits or boiled rice are not only placed in the pura (temples) but are placed at entrances of homes or shops, accompanied with burning joss sticks. Those that are placed at entrances are usually in the mornings and evenings. Avoid stepping on them when the joss sticks are still lighted, meaning that the prayers are still in progress. If you accidently stepped on those where the prayers are completed, it is ok, otherwise...... just ask for "forgiveness" silently.
