TV is nice- a flatscreen-many cable channels and a kiddie chan

Luxurious Jimbaran Bali Villa
by lyrad about The Jimbaran Bali
The Jimbaran Bali is an excellent place to bring a loved one for a romantic getaway. There are only 8 Villas (with different configurations) each with its own pool, so you will get a lot of privacy. Best of all, the service is first-class in typical Balinese style, with on-call butlers at hand to cater to your every whim and fancy.
The Jimbaran Bali is also conveniently located just 10 minutes from the airport, opposite the Intercontinental Resort. While the villas are not facing the beach, the Jimbaran beach is just a short 5 minute walk away, through the Intercon Hotel.

Tucked up in Lovina
by shelnlin about Puri Bali, Lovina
Back in 2000-2001 when I came to Bali, I found that this Hotel was one of the nicest that I had stayed in. It was quiet and tranquil and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. In fact it made me wish I could stay here for the rest of my trip. The beautiful gardens really set the scene for this Hotel and together with it's staff the place was very welcoming especially after a long day travelling up all the windy roads to get to Lovina. This hotel is centrally located and yet far enough away from the crowds. It comprises of a beautiful lush garden and a relaxing pool. Inside is a bookshop and a restaurant. And just after looking at their website I now see that they have an Internet cafe.
Although it is affordable, we chose to sample many of the other restaurants in the area but always came back this hotel to sleep and relax, however like it website says this price includes breakfast and tax into it's cost. The staff I remember especially the manageress on the front desk, was always friendly and helpful.

TC can be difficult to excahnge and the rate will not be quite as good. We alwasy use our visa @ the ATM is that an option for you? or just bringing US$. Visa cost is $US25pp payable on arrival and departure tax is 150,000 rupiah. Taxis are available just outside the airport with a set price depending on where you are staying ie Kuta, Legian etc. Restaurants range from budget to very expensive. Depending on which hotel you are staying will deicde on how much you spend same goes for taxis which are still pretty cheap. Also depends what is on your shopping list?. Change maybe $US20 at the airport to get you to your hotel etc we use the Kodak shops to change our money or Matahari also has a changer they are all computerised there are lots of money changers on the street but unless you are very skilled at counting you maybe duped!!
Re: two weeks in Bali
by Ubudian
PT Central Kuta has offices all over Bali and they remain the most reliable and fair money changers on the island. No problem with travelers checks, but the rate of exchange for them is a couple of percent less than US, Euro, AUS $, Canadian, or Pound Sterling. With our business in Ubud, we are frequently paid in foreign currency and we always use PT Central Kuta for currency changes.
Yes, most hotels will accept US travelers checks, as well as major credit cards.
As previously noted, ATMs are all over Bali and credit cards can be used with them for cash withdrawals as well.
For US currency, be sure to bring new $100.00 notes that are current series, crisp, not folded, torn, or written upon. Have a great trip!

Hi, we just came back from Bali a few days ago. Visa is quick and easy-use US $ if you can. Keeps it easier.
Also the departure tax must be paid in Indones. currency. 150K for adults and kiddies alike...
The hotels accept TC at least the Jimbaran Puri Bali did. We got a rate of 9200/dollar. At the airport it was 9110 /dollar FYI
Taxi-best bet to go to the airport taxi-just outside arrival-outside.
The cost to each area is posted and that is all they take-no more than that. To Jimbaran it cost us 50,000. I had checked with the hotel prior-so I knew it was accurate...if you can do that before you go-it helps. Otherwise you may be able to arrange hotel pick up for a bit higher in price-but peace of mind.
Credit cards are accepted by bigger hotela and establishments...
Have a great time.
Good luck,
Tina and Ted

In Jimbaran in september
by touraco
Hi, I will be in jimbaran in september with my hubby. we will be staying at the jimbaran bali villa and i was wondering if there are restaurants nearby the villa. i also heard there are restaurants by the beach, is it far from where we are staying? any recommendations on the seafood/indonesian restaurants by the beach? any suggestions on what can one do in jimbaran?
thanks so much.
Re: In Jimbaran in september

Hi,
There are plenty of restaurants in Jimbaran, that are not seafood restaurants on the beach. There is a wide variety available International and Local flavours. Look at the web-site www.balieats.com. This is full of information and review about restaurants all over Bali.
There are a lot of restaurants on the beach, all specialise in seafood, some are better than others, some can even cook you other things on request, it is a great place to go in the early evening watch the sunsetting and have a nice meal too.
I personnally like the Fortuin Cafe in my opinion it is one of the best, the food is good, the weight scales (for choosing your own fresh fish) ate honest, and don't put extra ice in to make the weight higher, like some of the other one's do.
It is at the quieter end of Jimbaran Bay so it is a little more romantic.
Jimbaran is quieter than Kuta for example, and there isn't really that much to do on an evening, so if you need a little bit of night life a short trip into Kuta/Legian or Seminyak will do the trick. It's easy to get to these places from Jimbaran and not too expensive by taxi.
Jimbaran is a little way out to go on trips, and usually the tours/sightseeing that are available from the hotels are a bit more expensive than what you can get them for in Kuta for example but Uluwatu Temple is close by, as is GWK park, and dreamland all are ok for a visit.
Have a great time over here, maybe there is a chance that we will meet at Fortuin cafe if you go there, and my family and I are there at the same time, as we go there often for an evening meal, especially after I have had a hard day at work, it is a grat place to relax and unwind.
Re: In Jimbaran in september

thanks for the info. do you know how far is it to walk from our villa to the fortuin cafe?
Re: In Jimbaran in september
by BesarRahasia
Hello
It all depends on how fast you walk :), Around 10 to 15 Mins should do it,or about 10,000rp for taxi, there are lots of other restaurants you will pass before you reach Fortuin. The restaurants in the Intercontinental Hotel(close to your villas) are really good too.
Hope you have a great time over here and enjoy all that we have to offer.

We are touring Indonesia/Borneo/Mayalasia in May. Can anybody recommend a small resort or cottage in bali where we can wind down for 4 days at the end of our trip. We want somewhere private, close to the beach, with a pool, 3star plus?

Puri Bali Hotel in Lovina has a beautiful garden and the loveliest pool I have ever used. Bargain and you will pay about 80,000 rps for a double room en suite. Or a bit more for one that has just been rstored. It is a hassle free zone and a massage is recommended by a lovely lady who's name I forget. There are nice restaurants near by and the beach but you will hardly want to move.
