Pat-Mase Villas
Hello all
I'm looking to visit Bali in April with my boyfried.
Firstly, is April a good time to come weather wise?
Also, have been looking at "Pat-Mase Villas" they look amazing - has anyone been before, and would you know if all the villas come with private pools, or only selected ones? (I want to make sure I get one with a pool!!)

It is always a good time to come to Bali, even if it is in the rainy season. This year the rains havn't been to big. April is coming out of the rainy season. It is more humid, but the Pat-Mase villas are located outside of the main area of Jimbaran. They are a little higher than the coastal plases, so generally it can be a little cooler there, especially on a nighttime. Every villa has it's own private pool. However for your information, the villas are fully booked from the 27th -30th April, so be sure to plan your vacation to leave before the 27th
The area the villas are located in is a little further away from the main areas, the closest being Jimbaran, it isn't easy walking distance so you would probably have to get a taxi (outside of the times for the free shuttle service the villas have) to go out for shopping or restaurants or the beach. The vilas have a taxi service but at a cost, which will be higher than the normal taxi,s it will be difficult for you to get a taxi off the street where the villas are located, there will not be many around so just remember to book it one way, then get a normal taxi back for your return, it will probably be 1/2 the price of the taxi from the villas. There are plenty of other villa resort style accommodations both within the Nusa Dua area, and Seminyak/Kerobokan/Canggu if you prefer to be closer to the beach/shopping/restaurants, some with private pools, others with a large pool which is sharing, but the villas has private walls and gardens.

Thank you for your replies, they are very useful.
How long (in taxi) would it take to get to Kuta? Whilst I don't want to stay in the middle of all the action, we would like to be within a reasonable distance!

I used to stay at Nusa Dua and Jimbaran, but the taxi rides each night wore me out so now I find Seminyak is a much better place to stay. Closer to the action without being right in Kuta. Good beach, great restaurants, excellent shopping and numerous spas. Loads of villas here - all seem to have private pool. I have stayed in a few, favourites are

Dyana Villas
Hi again
I am hooked on staying in a villa with private pool whilst in Bali, and have found another one, which looks amazing - Dyana Villas in Seminyak (my other option was Pat Mase in Jimbaran)
Any opinions on which is nicer/better?
Whilst I do not want to stay in the middle of Kuta, i'd like to be close enough to visit of a night time - so would Seminyak be the better option for me?

Just discovered this forum so my response may be a little late. Seminyak certainly has more nightlife than Jimbaran. I had always stayed at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and recently discovered that staying in a villa is a far better experience. Villa Kipas - www.villakipas.com - is where I stayed last time - gorgeous new villa and only about 100yards to the beach and also walking distance to all the good restaurants in Seminyak.
