Aneka beach hotel

by dannytubkin

I am thinking about taking my family to Bali in April and staying in Aneka Beach hotel in the 3 bed villa with private pool. Any opinion or advice would be very helpful

Hi
Aneka Beach hotel is old now , but still ok. The swimming pool can get busy.

The rooms are ok,although the linen (towells etc) are quite tired now, but maybe they will change them before April, although there is a rumour that the hotel will close sometime next year (contract finished for the land), and Hard Rock Hotel is taking it over to make room for expansion of their hotel, so maybe they won't change the linen. However the service in the hotel is good the location although not overlooking the beach (behind hard rock hotel) is close to all the night life, restaurants and shopping that Kuta is famous for.

I hope you have a great time over here in Bali.

Hi,
Can't help you with Kuta or Legian, but if you want to venture to Ubud, there is a gorgeous 2 storey Balinese house that was built for the owner June Yuong from Perth years ago.
She decided she could not manage the stairs so built a single level next door.
Nowadays she rents out the house to travellers and her two Balinese staff- wayan the driver and Made the house keeper look after all her guests.
Her house is an authentic Balinese house built for her by Balinese builders.
You can view photos of the house at http://travel.webshots.com/album/475000173FhIzvU
For all information regarding the house, contact information etc go to the link below I put up on Indahnesia.com back in 2005.

Hi. I stayed in one of the cottages at the Aneka Beach Hotel on the Kuta Beach. Have a look at the images - http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?_adv_prop=image&fr=b1ie7&va=aneka+beach+hotel&sz=all
Kuta beach is just across the street from the hotel but you won't get to see the beach from your cottage as the cottage is located within the garden of the hotel. It is a short walk from the shops and the cafes. Hard Rock Hotel is a few doors away...

Travel Tips for Kuta

Psychadelic Mushroom Omlettes

by corsakti

I am not here to condone drug use or offend anyone, but this is an interesting and special thing Kuta offers that many members might find appealing.

While most tourists go to Kuta for the Western style resorts and discotechs and shopping malls, there is much more to the city. One little-known gem is that you can purchase omlettes full of psychlosybin(sp?) mushrooms for very little money. I was in Bali on a tour and it was our tour guide who let us know about this. The group talked it over and unanimously decided we would try them out.

It might be worthwhile to note that while I was 24 at the time, all the other ladies in our tour group were much older than me. Most were in their 40's and the eldest was 63. So this wasn't just some 'spring break crazy party' type of an experience.

I don't remember exactly where the omlettes were purchased but natives will be able to tell you. We each ate one and walked together on the most gorgeous expanse of beach I could imagine in my wildest dreams (Kuta is known for its amazing beaches).

To say the least, the omlettes were extremely powerful and potent, causing extreme hallucinations probably beyond what any of us expected. But there is nothing about the experience that I would change. It was truly amazing. If you are interested in experiencing something like this in a place where it is not only safe and legal but also ridiculously gorgeous, you might be interested in looking into it.

i'm a movie freak so a restaurant with movie theme always interest me.
thi place has pizza with names from the movies such as silence of the lamb, chicken run, ocean's eleven, green mile, some like it hot, etc. all the topping of the pizza correspondence with the name. like in silence of the lamb, you will get lamb on your pizza of course.

temporary tatoo

by aalayaa

if you always one to have one but too afraid with the pain and commitment with the real one, you can get the temporary tatoo.
just wait on the beach, there will be some people carrying plastic folder filled with all kind of drawing you can choose.
