If you are looking for somewhere really buget like cheap to stay then this is the spot to be.
Bakungsari hotel is in the middle of everything from shops to restaurants all the way to the beach. Walking distance to the beach is about 3 mins for shopping bout 5 mins. Plus its situated in Kuta just on the borderline of Tuban so the airport is a short drive about 2 kilometres away.
The hotel is great for families i think myself its a family orientated hotel, but of course any one can go there but if you want a hotel with not alot of kids around then this is not your hotel of choice.
For being so cheap the service, facilities and amenties arnt that great they are pretty adverage but thats what you'll get, as i say "why pay alot when your someone like me who is really only in their hotel for showering and sleeping??"
But this hotel is fine for a cheap budgte price that you will pay.
This hotel is located on Singosari road which use to be called Bakungsari road. This hotel has 101 rooms which consist of standard rooms and superior rooms.
Please do remember that this hotel is a pretty basic standard hotel so the rooms are pretty basic too.
Room facilities are:

What can I say about Hotel Bakungsari?
The night we turned up at this hotel I thought "What have I got us into this time?" As the organizer of a 3 family combined holiday I had found this nice looking hotel at a great price on the net but as you know, the advertising blurb of hotels doesn't always stand up to real life. I thought this was one of those times and my name was going to be mud!!!!
Coming in through the back roads of Kuta to this place in the mid of night looked shabby at best but come morning all was revealed.
Daylight bought the beautiful gardens, pool and restaurant. Breakfast and were greeted by Danny, a waiter who over the years has become a family favourite. The free breaky was simple but scrumptious, achoice of eggs(your choice of style), toast, pancake with orange juice and "kopi".
We have since returned 5 times and plan to return this October. Rooms are clean with cool aircon, tv and fridge. We always ask for the superior roms overlooking the pool area but even the standard rooms in older part are good. I think they are in fact bigger rooms and have a bath which the new rooms don't.
Swimming pool isn't the biggest around and being between two wings of hotel gets shaded in arfternoon but that can be a blessing in the heat.
All the staff are just fantastic, in fact we once stayed at another hotel (we now regret this) and we made a point to visit the team just to say hello.
Short walk to art markets, beach and supermarkets.
Real Indonesian Food
by Merrie about Several Warungs around the Bakung Sari Hotel
When you want a taste of real Indonesian food go to the several Warungs opposite the Main Entrance of the Bakung Sari Hotel. It can be crowded with locals eating their lunch/ dinner, but isnt that a sign that the food is really tasty? just choose all the things you want from the counter. Fish, chicken, vegtables, egs combined with white rice.. real yummie...

Bakungsari hotel

Hi there!
Will be in Kuta this summer, and I can't quite make up my mind, hope someone can help me. Last summer I stayed in Wina hotel, which was excellent price/value. They increased their prices, a bit, but as we're on a pretty tight budget this year, we're considering going to Bakungsari hotel. It's about 5 euros cheaper a night, but I'm wondering if it's a big bother getting to Kuta beach from this hotel, and how the previous experiences in the hotel are? Basically, is it worth saving the 5 euros a night, or should I stick to Wina?
Thanks!

It is about a 15 minute walk to the beach from the hotel, interesting if you like to say hello with all of the street traders and other locals who sit around on the way.
(they will all probably ask where you are going?)Not too difficult a walk, and you can always go the other way and walk along towards Kartika plaza past the new shopping center. The rooms are cheap and cheerful, and the staff very helpful. I suppose it depends on what youwant for your money. I believe that the hotel has also recently increased prices (as most on Bali should do) this is the first increase since 2001.

i think bakung sari hotel is even less than 15 minutes walking to the beach. all you need is just taking some shortcut to get to jl. bakung sari then it's already very close to the beach near kuta square.
the hotel is not on a big street. but since people there are very friendly, don't hestitate to ask your way.
the hotel also next to the famous cheap local food: warung nikmat. you should try eat there.

I suppose it depends on how fast you walk, for me it takes 15 minutes, maybe because my legs are getting old. My house is just around the corner from the Hotel and i walk it every day when i am in Bali.
