Checking in and checking out of this hotel where the biggest probelems with our hotel stay here. With a small child needing a nap, a delay in check-in (four hours) can be painful to say the least. They also lost our hotel transfer voucher, making the last hour, again stressful. Without a three year old this would not have been a problem, but it was and it tainted our stay a little bit. The staff were all very friendly, however the hotel is just too big, with just too many people to offer the personal service that we had become used to in Bali. Our room was nice, although a bit 'tired'. Comfortable king sized bed and day bed, mini bar, TV with heaps of 'Hard Rock' entertainment. The bathroom, again nice, but the tiles had faded and there were a few minor problems with hot water etc. Staff where very prompt in this deptartment. Apparently they give priority to cleaning rooms to families with children, so our room was cleaned by 11am (great for nap time), while our childless friends down the hall sometimes had to wait until 4pm. The acoustics of the place, again made it a bit difficult with a small child. The echoes from the hall, the band in 'Hard Rock Central' made for late nights and early mornings. I'd probably recommend this to people without kids or with older kids (our son was three at the time). There is lots on offer within the Hard Rock Complex and the location in Kuta is great.
You can't go past the pool. It is unbelievable, so huge that it just never seems crowded. To make up for our hell check-in we were given a free cabana, which was just great. The cabana had two lounges. A phone to contant the cafe downstairs and they'd bring food and drinks to the cabana. The was also a light, ceiling fan, curtains for privacy when changing or little-ons to have a nap. Excellent. The pool also had two small waterslides, that kept our son amused for hours and and hours. There's the pool bar, beach volleyball and surf lessons on the sand island surrounding the pool. The small hard rock deli make the most amazing rolls and baguettes for a reasonable price. The kids club was beautiful, newer and cleaner than our local creche and for approx $US 3 per hour you can't go wrong, shame we didn't get a chance to use it. The location is great, across from the beach. 50 - 100 m from Kuta Square (Galleria, McDonalds etc) and 100 from Poppies Lane I, cheap shopping and great eats eg. TJ's mexican.

Did not stay here but had a "tour" round the hotel. Huge and good setting at the coffee house. Impressive swimming pool.
easily accessible as it is at the main road of Kuta and the beach is directly opposite it. Theme: HotelDirections: along main road, Kuta Beach is just in front
