Phoning the UK from Bali
by markythesparky1
Whilst in Bali I had to make several phone calls to the UK. I asked a few locals the cheapest way to do this and was told to buy a local 'simPATI' SIM card and replace the +44 UK code with 0101744 when dialing. Therefore, +441603 123456 becomes 0101744 1603 123456 The cost of the SIM was 25,000 Rupiah which is just over £1.50 and the calls were pence per minute rather than pounds!
Hope this helps someone, Mark.

this restaurant is river front.
river is not a main attraction in bali since it's usually dirty. but this restaurant tried a breakthrough by having its place by the river. it's not to close from the road so usually people don't notice this restaurant. but it's a nice and quite place.
they also have bakery where you can buy all kind of bread and pastry.
and since they have a quite big open space, sometimes they have event here. nasi campur
Playing in the waves in Kuta

"Grab a board, any board."
We spent one day in Kuta. We rented a surf board and a boogie board for 2 CDN dollars each ... we kept them for two hours. The man we rented the boards from also sold us bintang and had one ready every time we came out of the water ... nice perk.
