Internet Outpost. Small lobby had several locals hanging out watching TV,
the alley that leads to the front desk has a couple of hole in the wall food
places, really bottom end though.

This hotel isin a great location in central Kuta. Just outside the Hotel gates is plenty of great restaurants and shops.
The Hotel has 2 swimming pools (one open 24hours) both with swim up bars.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and cleaned each day.
The staff are very pleasant.
The hotel has a restaurant open 24hours and the food is reasonably priced. Each day they have a lunchtime special around the pool. Great location. You don't need to go far to find anything.

Situated in the centre of old poppies lane it is convenient to shop but you are forever hassled by the drivers "you want car"
The family room although great in fitting five persons had inadequate airconditioning for the size of the room, and the shower was over a bath that you couldn't stop the water from flooding the bathroom.
Be careful around the pool, there was lots of different levels and the tiles are very slippery. Staff were friendly but the service they provided was mediocre. If your looking for affordable no thrills in the centre of kuta then it does provide but i think there are other hotels that will fit the requirements better.
Want to be close to the clubs???

Hotel Barong is located in what they call old poppies which is poppies lane 1, its close to everything you would need in the heart of Legain, just mintues away and right round the corner from some of the know nightclubs like for example Paddy's Bar Reloaded, The Bounty, M Bar Go just to name a few.
Hotel Barong is also close to markets, surf shops, eateries like McDonald's, KFC etc, plus the beaches are just down the road about a 300 metre walk about 10 mins walking time.
Hotel Barong was a very cheap accommodation place with excellent facilities, staff and rooms for a great budget hotel. But please keep in mind since i was there last, renovations have been done so the price might have gone up a little. This Hotel i havnt stayed in for a few years but i stayed before the reno's where down, but not long ago i went in to have a look around to see the new renovatons, and it looks beautiful.
It has a beautiful warmth feeling from the guests and from the workers there, they are very friendly.
Hotel Barong has 99 rooms which are broken into 78 standard rooms, 12 standard triple rooms, 4 standard quarto rooms, 2 family rooms and 3 superior rooms.
It has a beautiful tropical gardens all around you.
Hotel barong has many facilities with in the hotel they are:

Taxi on call from lobby
Laundry and dry cleaning (just be careful as some hotels are very expensive for dry cleaning)

Has anyone stayed at the Barong hotel....we couldnt get into the Bounty in May so we booked here instead....whats it like???

barong is a kind of same like bounty,located in the center of legian and very popular among the youth.if you are a party gigs than this hotel is good!

Ive been to Bali many times and we stayed at the Barong Hotel about 4 years ago. when we go past it, it looks really good coz its had renevations, so i think it will be good for you, when we stayed their is was excellent, but it wasnt in Kuta (its in legian) so i didnt like the spot,i like kuta better.

Has anyone stayed at the Barong Hotel in Kuta? If yes what was it like. Im going in Sept and cant make up my mind where to stay...too many choices. This will be my 14th visit to Bali, but we want a change from our usual hotel. ( Rama Garden. Very nice by the way) Appreciate any comments...Cheers Guys n gals. ;)

Hi im hayley and i have been to Bali many times even lived there for a while, but we stayed at the Barong once it was good nice and close to everything but we stayed there about 4 yrs ago since then, we have gone past and its been done up so i suspect its better now.
But i will have to say every other time we have gone to Bali we have stayed at Kuta Beach Club its is the worlds best i love it. Its about AUD$35-$40 a night but of cause get a package deal.

I have been travelling to Bali for the past 25 years. I love the Barong Hotel and have stayed there many times. The last time I was there was in January 2004. The front part of the hotel is the older part (ie the bathrooms are getting a little tired) The newer part out the back is about 6 years old and the rooms are much nicer. There is a 24hour pool with Bar out the back part also, The staff are really friendly. 24hour room service, TV Fridge and Air Cond are all standard in all rooms. Hope this helps. The cost of a double room is $30 US and they have their own website but I can't rember the address. Do a search on Barong Hotel.

Hi....
me and some friends are going to bali feb 5th to 14th. 2 of them are staying at the bounty in kuta but I am staying at the niksoma beach resort. Are these 2 very far apart because I will be between the 2 places constantly...?
Also, we are all 21 and would like to go to some great nightclubs to meet others our age and have a drink and do some dancing. Where would be the best place for us to do so in kuta?

Hello Between Bounty Hotel and Niksoma Hotel around 15 to 20 minute . You know Barong hotel the located is in Kuta area and Niksoma in legian Area.
And for the NIght club, you can go a long in seminyak or Legian area , there so lot night club. and yould try santape, Double six and other

Will be in bali at the same time a group of 6,
and am staying near the niksoma the best area.
We are all into surfing and great clubs and bars aged between 21-26 we should all meet up .
Go to clubs like Karma Sutra and Hardrock for good live bands they are located on the beach on Pantai kuta.
But for the best dance music go to Dhyana Pura which is a street that has great clubs and bars.
And you will always finish off at Double Six

Hi Leah
As stated they are about 20min walk apart along the beach road. You can catch a taxi which will only cost you a few dollars Australian, so it shouldn't be a problem going between the too. Niksoma is in a great area, adjacent to the beach.
