Hi
I will say for definate that you will not get anything in kuta or other places nearby, especially beachfront, it is already fully booked.

Hello it's me again.
Double checked with all of the hotels in Kuta/Seminyak/Legian/Jimbaran/Tanjung Benoa/Nusa Dua/Sanur, all full.

Aslo I must just say this for future reference, the period you were looking at is "Peak Season" not only does that mean it's busy, but it also means that the hotels charge seasonal surcharges. So even if it was empty in the popular areas, I doubt very much that you would still find "a nice beachfront hotel or resort that will fit with your budget of 20-30usd/night". Something away from the "Beachfront location is more within the budget you are thinking, and it would have to be "Low Season" to achieve those prices.

Hi
Congratiulations, It shouldn't really matter what the hotel is like, you have been very fortunate to get something this late.

I personally don't know the hotel so cannot comment, but the location is reasonable, it is on the corner of the beach front road, close to resturants, and shopping and discoteques, so it could be a bit noisy well into the night, but then it is Christmas & New year, and the parties go on until the wee hours, which is why we always go away at that time of year. This year we are all going to Singapore, the lights on the streets and the Christmas Trees are a sight to behold, can't wait (wife & daughters going shopping on Orchard road, aaaaaghh)

Have a great time over here, have a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year.

Shop at the beach

by victorwkf

At Kuta and Legian, you need not go for shopping as some locals will come to you while you are at the beach and try to sell you various items. Also, some locals will lay a groundsheet and sell various stuff along the beach area. They are rather cheap and worth a look, and remember to bargain :) There are even services such as hair braiding if you are interested.

Waterbom Park

by SmilingTraveller

We headed off to Waterbom Park expecting to spend a couple of hours, but our inner child emerged and we spent a full day trying out every ride many times.

The rides vary from slow and relaxing to very fast and terrifying, but it's safe and the park is patrolled by Aussie trained lifeguards. There are also other activities including a huge swimming pool, childrens playground, lovely gardens and grassy areas, a day spa and plenty of food choices when your tummy starts rumbling after all that activity.

Warnings: You will get a lot of exercise climbing the stairs to get to the rides themselves. If you attempt Smash Down, be prepared for a butt pounding!
