I wouldn't have left if I had a bigger budget. The luxurious hotel has a beautifully manicured landscape that attracts heaps of birds in the mornings and butterflies during the day. The only down side were mosquitoes, but everything else more than made up for that. Staff were great - friendly, polite, efficient, patient. The beautifully designed restaurant has a pretty impressive menu and staff are always willing to customise anyway. There's a pool and outdoor massage services are available. The inhouse travel agent is mighty well connected and means to help you get to where you want to go, but makes sure you have a good, safe, memorable experience on top of it all. Rooms are spacious and ground-level rooms get a 4 seater lounging area. There are private rooms at the back of the resort with a patio and deck chairs! There is also a backgate to the beach and about a 20 minute walk to Kuta Beach and a further 25min walk to Legian. The grounds are just beautiful and always beckoning a stroll. Most outstanding would be how Rama Beach has preserved that Balinese charm it is world famous for. By using natural materials for roofing, not to mention nights are filled with tranquil Balinese music by a pair of friendly musicians on only traditional instruments, Rama Beach unlike other posh hotel/resorts in Bali makes living comfortable, but also, with lots of charm and character i.e. not the big, world-standard hotel/resorts built without character and warmth. It is lush and expansive but not obscenely mungo like most up and coming resorts in Bali. Rama Beach has it all fundamentally in place.
