  • Secret Garden Inn off Poppies 1 Kuta Bali

Has so many glowing reports. all past history. Owners arrived from Australia in July 2009 family involved in Court proceedings back in Perth cost apparently have to be recovered fast. Shoved costs of rooms from 250,000rp for long stay 300,000rp normal to 400,000rp for ground floor and upstairs. Manager they would yak yak yak at both of them he became ill trying to balance some fairness with their demands. He could not and left They loudly say he ripped them off. No one believes that. This pair have single handed spoilt countless holidays in the last two Months. Do not mouth the words thank you. More and more money they can get improves the woman's ability to go shopping, he just sits looking at the girls in the pool like fish in a pond. Owner has not got a life or feelings for all the people he has disrupted plans for. So long as the shekels pour in he is not happy but snarls less. The rooms are basic good the fridge size wonderful but they complain loudly about bringing in outside provisions to stock it? Pool is excellent access poor. Too few lounges around the pool. sewerage smells at base of pool indicate plumbing problems. Basic repairs ignored. Signs stuck every few feet. Might be a retired school master. Getting his own back on adults. Staff are pleasant honest often apologetic at what they instructed to ask or do. If you are considering the inn wait a year or so then they may settle back to having some honesty in bookings achieve some repairs. Currently there is none.would NOT currently recommend anyone wasting their time making a booking, if they had the room vacant for one night would put someone in and you arrive lies from owner staff over booked not his problem and you are left standing luggage in hand and no room. seen it over and over since July.

Unique Quality: The location was ideal now the huge building next door will overshadow it soon it no longer is what it once was. especially now management under financial strain to restock funds fast. The pool is about 8ft deep all the way and only metal steps to enter and exit. OK for the fit.

Directions: Stop at La Waylon coming from Beach and urn first right next to AP Inn.

I had read about this place on another forum, sounded good so why not give it a try? I rang them direct to book, no problems, didn't even want a deposit!

Our driver, who had driven us all the way from Amed, was slightly horrified that we wanted him to drive down Poppies Lane 1. It really is a very narrow lane!! But he scrapes to the car!

I think we were all a bit dubious when we saw the outside of the building. It wasn't the most inviting looking place. So I decided to check out a couple of rooms before telling them that I actually had a booking already!
Once you've made it through the entrance it all looks so much better.

Well, the rooms were fine. Everything was clean. Basic maybe, but nothing to complain about. Aircon, ceiling fan, TV, lockable wardrobe, new safety deposit box, new curtains, new good size fridge and the bed was comfortable too.

Breakfast was included in the price (rp200.000..about $30 AUD). The bacon was the best I've had in Bali. The cook told me an Australian owns the hotel and he gets it sent over from Aus!

The pool was great, well maintained. It's too deep for kids....2.25m at the shallow end! So I guess not too many kids would be staying there....bonus perhaps. Noodles are provided so you don't have to keep swimming to stay afloat!

Made, the manager, is lovely. He speaks great English. Give him a call if you're looking for affordable accomodation.
Check out the website. The photos are the real deal.

We only stayed for a day and a half, but would happily stay there again. It's hard to conceive that you're in the middle of Kuta!

Directions: In a lane off Poppies 1, opposite Fat Yogis restaurant
