White Rose Hotel

White rose hotel. absolutely a 2 star hotel , not a four as advertised, airport pickups advertised as free, not the case, will cost 15 US each way. Advertised rooms and cost , creative false advertising, through agoda, i booked a superior room at a higher cost and was supplied a lessor so called delux double room and when we complained I was told that I must have read the advert incorrectly as the superior room was not advertised check it out for yourself, two different prices advertised and so I rang the hotel prior to booking and was told by the staff that the more expensive room was the superior room, another load of misleading rubbish which they denied, on top of that when I was given a room i found a Disgusting bathroom covered in soap scum and yellow body scum, seriously one of the worst I have stayed in, the tiles were poorly cleaned with black and yellow body scum in most of the grouted areas and bath had thick yellow streaks around the entire edge, I wasnt too impressed.
The walls of the room were badly stained with large black marks across them, it was obvious that they had not been cleaned in quite some time and there was water damage to the ceiling bedroom. And please if you want privacy in the bathroom and toilet , forget it, the panelling of the bathroom door was parting company at the joins with gaping openings providing a clear view into the toilet and shower, The door locks refused to work which took two days to repair, The lighting control was broken unable to turn on lights for 24 hrs, this happened twice ad eventually had to be replaced. Television cable broken away from tv unable tv was unwatchable most times, breakfast was a joke, basic food available which was cold and reheated, dry and tasteless, fruit juice drinks clearly heavily watered. I was very careful about what I ate and drank whilst in bali having previously experienced a bad case of Bali belly, guess what got it again and given the lack of care taken in their food and drinks I suspect strongly it was from there. Advertised Free wifi...rubbish it will cost you $5AUD per hour to use, but don't bother because it doesnt work well pretty much anywhere in the grounds of the hotel, I was told this after having paid for it. Claims to be a quiet hotel, dont believe that it is immediately adjacent to the nightclubs and you have to listen to that until 5am every morning.
All of the above was just plain ordinary and substandard for a hotel that makes the claims that it does, but to cap it off I am covered in red itchy bites that at first i thought were mosquitoes but I have hundreds of them all over so it can only be something from in the room or bed. So thankfully I have left the White rose and will never be returning , what a nightmare , the only redeeming feature was the gardens and pool area of the hotel. definitely not a four star . and "No".. I was not offered another room despite several requests and the fact that they were only at 60% of capacity.
Beware of the staff that handle monies , twice I was short changed by staff at the hotel when I purchased items, when confronted they simply stated that they didnt have the correct change so they gave me less. Each time it was only a few dollars or (20,000 /50000 rup) but this is the hotel staff , you expect it on the street but not when you are dealing with the main counter.
Finally watch out for the nasty shock you get when booking with either agoda or white rose on line because you will be hit with a total of 30 percent extra in tax and surcharge for each night ... only the details of the tax are provided.
I dont normally write a review of a hotel but this place was exceptionally poor accommodation, and I have stayed in all types and standards of accommodation from italy to vietnam, thailand etc, this was probably the worst experience for the type and quality promised and paid for.

Unique Quality: best of the hotel were the drivers particularly nengah who knew bali like the back of his hand and took me to numerous places not listed on all of the travellers adverts , speaks perfect english and always helpful and friendly nothing was too hard for him , he can pick you up and take you anywhere, from any hotel call him on nengah sutama +62 81 337 453 225.
