Balian Breezes: Feeling the Balian Breeze

A 2 room house
that can be rented as the whole
or by the room,
is the Balian Breezes.

This Balinese house has a swimming pool,
and each bedroom has a small living area.

Bathrooms are pretty new and clean.

I found the prices to be a bit high
in comparison to the other venues.

But since there isn’t much of a choice,
I can see how they came
to charge what they ask for.

The upstairs bedroom is
a better choice that the one downstairs.

Balian Riverside Retreat: Down by the Balian Riverside

Unique Quality: Another property managed by
Pandok Pisces Bali is the
Balian Riverside Retreat.

By the description of the name,
these 2 bungalows are perfect for a retreat.

The 2-storey bale bordering the Balian river,
is used for yoga classes for up to 2 students.

The river leads to the near by Soka Beach and Break.

The bungalows have their own
open - kitchen on the ground floor,.
Perfect for self catering diets for a Detox.

These coconut wood bungalows,
were recently built and provides
TV/DVD /CD stereo system in both bungalows.

The villas are the same in size,
but one bungalow uses the 2nd floor as twin room,
while the other uses the 2nd floor as a living room/lounge .

Both bungalows have the master bedroom on the 3rd floor.

There is only 1 bathroom in both bungalows
and that is located on the ground floor.

Outdoor dining by the river can be catered.
Airport transfers can be provided.

Chillin at Pondok Pisces - Balian

Unique Quality: Right along the main road in Balian,
is the quaint, family run,
Pondok Pisces Bungalows.

This is a clean, small complex,
offering views and comfort at
an affordable price.

There are 4 sea view,bungalows,
ranging from the Timor House; the Family Bungalow;
The Two Storey Bungalow; and the Open plan Beach House.
.
These bamboo decorated bungalows
provide a relaxing sojourn,
accompanied by sea breezes.

There’s a small café supplied by the management.

Prices at the time of my visit,
ranged from 230,000 Rp – 500,000 Rp.

Gajah Minah Resort: Going Boutique in Balian

Unique Quality: Towards the end of the winding road,
tucked away in the rolling hills,
is the boutique hotel, Gajah Minah.

The property sits amongst the hills
facing the cliffs and the sea.

Bungalows are cozy with their own garden
and most of them have a view.

Rooms are comfortable,
and the ensuite bathrooms
are spacious and provide hot water.

Mountain Bikes, Surf Boards, Massages, Baby-Sitting
are all amenities provided by the hotel.

At the time of my visit,
the in-house Naga Restaurant
was serving excellent dishes,
like the grilled duck.

Pertiwi Resort and Spa: A quiet place on a busy street

We were very pleased to find that this resort and spa is set back off the street far enough not to hear all the noise. Your upstairs neighbors may be another story..
Although we wanted to be close to everything we didn't want to have to hear the traffic and noise on Monkey Forest Road day and night. Here we had the best of both worlds.
We had a very large room with a queen size bed, refrigerator, and in suite bathroom
and a lovely patio with padded furniture.

Unique Quality: Very nice pools and beautifully tended grounds.

SarinBuana Eco-Lodge: Getting Away from it All

If you’re a socialite,
summers in Bali can be
an echo of party life in Ibiza.

But if you’re over the party period,
or feel that it’s getting a bit crowded,
a great place to get away from it all is:

SarinBuana Eco-Lodge.

It’s way up in the mountains,
near the area of Tabanan
and offers a calm retreat compared to what one
could have found a long time ago in Ubud.

They offer walks in the mountains,
so that you can feel the cool breeze
while the birdies sing.

Or best of all….
just read a book and chill.

Space is very limited,
so best you give a call before arriving.
